How can this be called that = Cougar ?

Recommended Posts

using the term for a 3rd party is disrespectful.

In what context? Like if I told my friend at work "Hey do your remember that cougar we helped a few days ago?". It's something to be proud of. I helped a woman today who's 52, a somewhat regular customer and she has a bod that many teenie boppers would envy. It's something to be proud of.

Yeah, I'd go with 45+ for a cougar, and she'd have to be going after men who were at least 10 years younger than she was.

35 isn't even a puma. She's a kitten. ;)

Like I said before. The "textbook" definition may be an older woman who purposely pursues younger men but the term is almost never used in that context. It just means an attractive older woman.

I've been called pretty boy and I certainly find that more offensive than cougar or MILF.

What else have you been called? I'm not "universally attractive" so I've been called everything under the sun! Ugly, weird and creepy (in the same sentence), cute, handsome, hot, fine, beautiful AND movie star sexy! Now do I

have range or what?

Pretty boy, guido, underwear model, stuck up, gay. There's nothing I haven't heard at least once.

I think a cougar can be seen as anyone even 3 years and older...but moreso I'd say when you're talking from 20's to 30's...but still older woman younger guy scenario is going to be assumed as a sexual/playful dynamic without high expectations or strings attached in many cases so a lot of guys will see older women as a bit "dirty" and the hunters therefore label them predatory cougars, but that's not necessarily bad for many guys for obvious reasons. It's a much more relaxed, low pressure circumstance for men, as a woman who is older may not have the same expectations for a younger guy at all as she would someone older.

Men are mainly physically drawn to women, so younger women start to become the preferred meal of choice as men get into their late 20's and 30's and women are typically drawn to men that are older because they're supposed to be more mature and defined, so a flip on the dynamic these days are women hunting younger men, which I think are actually easier to catch than older men who are experienced and seasoned veterans of playing the field...a young guy may be easily persuaded and outsmarted, allowing an older woman to feel more in control and see things more transparently.

But in most cases I'd say for men, older woman and younger guy dynamic is mainly about no-strings fun/sex not that some don't turn into relationships or even marriages out of chance, but that's the minority of these engagements.

When I was 26, I had a FWB with a 36 yr old that lasted about 6 months before she wanted kids.

The sex was out of this world. Really really out of this world. I'll never forget it.

The unfortunate part was her time clock to have kids. I wasn't ready for that yet. She eventually moved on and got married to a 40 year old and had a family. It all worked out in the end.

Why it took so many posts to get to this answer, I'll never know.

Older women are the best.

Anyway, I'm not sure what age qualifies for the cougar bracket, and I don't care.

I'm 25, so the way I see it, if you're 26+ and want to sleep with me, you're a cougar.

I didn't realize that a 'cougar' was (by default) any woman who was just a few years older than the guy she was dating... as I assume that +/- 5 years for either gender is pretty much 'same age' if both people are past 35 or so.

If I were with a guy and he used that term to describe women I'd stop seeing him. It is a term of disrespect. Similar to 'slut'.

30-40 is a puma and 40+ is a cougar

I always thought pumas were older than cougars, e.g., a mangy puma.

lol actual the term cougar refers to women 40+. I think at some point puma came in the last few years it don't really get used much. I know plenty of women that love to be called cougars and they seek out younger men.

Yea, you would think that the label would "empower" them and suggest a higher level of desirability...

I've hated that term since I was 33, and a young man posted on another forum, of his disappointment that only "older women/cougars" were interested in him - and he used my age as an example.

It's actually a good thing he may not like it but there are many young guys that like women in their 40s and even 50s. Let's be honest there are many women in their 40s and 50s that could give women in their 20s and 30s a run for their money. I know at worked I have been shock seeing family members seeing their loved ones and asked is that your granddaughter to find out it was their daughter or even seeing mother and daughter coming to visit and the mother is hotter than the daughter.

The ages given here aren't relevant unless age gap is provided.

The name I've heard given to men who date much younger are 'poachers' or 'man-thers'.

I know for me I have been with women where there is a 10-20 year age difference. Anything less than 10 isn't an issue. Hell for me anything less than 15 shouldn't be an issue. The reality is that it should be how you feel about each other that matters not the age.

Just read that someone here called a 35 year old lady cougar ?

Really I would get if it was 35 to 21 relationship but how can 35 to 28 be considered and classified as cougar younger man relationship.

I was literally speechless after that so what in your opinion is cougar ?

Why would a woman even need to be called that its not like she is forcing him to be with her.

Or choose her is this like jealousy therm younger woman invented because they could not get those guys?

I think that is the definition of "cougar" in PORNOGRAPHY, not real life.
