Blocked her number from calls, but how do I block texts? I have an older Samsung Solstice. I called my provider, but they were not of much help. Anyone know how to do this??

NC has been going good for about 23 or so days, with just a few breadcrumbs from her and no response from me . But I just want to remove that chance of anything else coming through so I am not wondering if/when another will come…

If you can't block their number, text this if they text you: your number Error: Invalid number. Please re-send text message using a valid 10-digit number: whatever they texted you.

for ex: 888-896-7899 Error: Invalid number. Please re-send text message using a valid 10-digit number: I miss you.

they will think that you really did block them and they can't reach you.

p.s good for you for staying strong!

There are apps depending on what kind of phone you have

Surely to start again you need to block your ex from your LIFE. Oh well, all the best

why don't you want to block them out of your life? what is the point of blocking them then?

Your provider may be able to help. If they can't (and I see you've already researched that) then you should be able to download an app.

However, occasionally you have to pay, in addition to which, it may only function for a limited tiome.

A solution I have suggested - and which I am advised, seems to work very well - is to do the following.

The minute you receive a text from them, you reply with this, word - for - word:

Text Blocker activated. Your message was not delivered.

That's it.

If they should try it again - send it again, typed in precisely the same way.

Funnily enough, I hear it's very effective.

Yeah, I have seen these 'fake' block message and that may be a solution. Only problem is, I sometimes don't see her message until the next day, hours and hours later. A 'real' block message would return immediately to the sender. Hours later will come across as fabricated and strange...

Oh, she's gone. Believe me, she's gone. Out of my life. Now, I just want to get her off my phone :p

It doesn't matter as long as she stops :)

Why? It's not like she will start debating with you

^^ Fair enough. Just want a legitimate solution, if one exists

Contrary to popular belief, not all texts are 'instantly' delivered.

My H. sent me a message at 4.30pm one day, telling me where he would be, meeting me after work. I actually walked through the car park while he was parking the car, at 5.17 - and as I reached him I got his message.

It's also delayed if you've had your 'phone turned off.....

There are various reasons why this would work.

As long as she gets it, there's no problem.

Is there?

Put it this way:

If you send the message, even after a long time post-receiving hers - she may feel it's a mistake, or just weird.

What might she do?

She might reply, and see if it's serious/accurate.

What do you do?

Send it again, immediately.

That reinforces the message and confirms it to her.

Sorted!! :D

No excuses... Don't need any of those. And, not changing my number I've had since 2000. Just not happening.

Anyway, just got an email from her asking some ridiculous question and stating the fact that she tried to message me but I didn't respond so she thinks I blocked her number anyway...

Mission accomplished!! :p

okay, so it is most definitely easy to block someone via e-mail because I just did that today.

Block her! Now! I have a feeling that she is going to get back in your head (as if she hasn't already) and you're going to respond.

You know why I know this? BEEN THERE, DONE THAT.

Interesting idea. It's my work email, through Exchange. I'll have to look into that one. The only thing is, we are still a tiny bit connected through our rental house (see my first posts regarding this attachment). I've been out for almost a month, but she will be there through the end of this month. We may have to deal with each other come early May, but I'm hoping not... But, been NC for 23 days already.
