MartinH
I'm 33 and I have a steady girlfriend but I only have two close friends. I have only got about 4 or 5 friends in total but two would be my best friends who i would talk to everyday, us three have been friends since childhood. I'm not a loner and I am outgoing but I do find it hard to make new friends and meet new people even though I play football etc. I guess I'm at the age where people are getting married now and have their own lives but I've always only had this small group. Is this normal?

Is this normal? Hell yea it's normal. I'm 34 and only have 2 people I know that I consider as genuine friends. The rest could kiss my ass for all I care.
veggirl
It's normal. I have one best friend and my twin sister that I hang out with all the time. Other people are casual friends / work friends. (I'm 29). It comes with age I think, no worries
Minka333
Yes. It's the quality of friendship not the quantity. Who needs a hundred friends when only 2 or 3 really cares...
TheFemaleVoice
dont worry, its totally normal, my husband only has 1 bestfriend and a total of about 3 friends. Im 22 and only have 4 good friends myself. Its not a bad thing at all.
sweetkiwi
completely normal. Don't worry about it. Some people don't have any close friends. Which may be okay for their particular situation. I've had the same close friend since i was very young. Got lucky.
Begins
completely normal. Don't worry about it. Some people don't have any close friends. Which may be okay for their particular situation. I've had the same close friend since i was very young. Got lucky. Not quite sure whether I am the unlucky one. I do have friends but I don't have a friend who I can talk about my personal problems. However, I have no problem calling someone out for a drink and to chit-chat, go for a short trip or just doing things together. So I guess it is a matter of how we define a "close friend"?
