Why are you commenting on unattractive male traits when you're not dating men?

And since when is facial hair unattractive?!?!? Haven't you been paying attention??? A scruff is all the rage!!! I'm not a big fan of the pornstache, but other than that, bring on the facial hair!!!

Being bald is also ok these days. Just shave the whole thing off and you're a sexy mofo!

A hell of a lot of women don't like my scruff or facial hair.

Some people hate potatoes. Doesn't mean it's a horrible food.

There is NO one trait that is universally unattractive. Not a single one!

I know a hell of a lot of short guys. They're really cute as well. I'd go there. Know why I don't? They're all married or have live in girlfriends!!!

The guy I'm dating now is 6'2" or something like that. But I've dated many guys that were shorter. MUCH shorter in fact.

And overweight as well.

Saying women don't like facial hair is akin to saying women don't like men with brown eyes! It's such a SMALL thing women consider it's not even on the same universe as height or weight (which yes, might be important for both men AND women, but not necessarily to ALL)

Yes, haven't you learned anything from LS? Clearly the existance of an 85+ page consolidated height thread in contrast with the complete absence of a consolidated weight thread confirms this.

Welcome to the jungle.

To me, anything's fair game. But to compare a short male to an overweight female, or a (short/tall) female to an overweight male.. Apples and oranges..

One is a genetic tendency towards an arbitrary trait, the other a severe medical condition. Everyone has their own right to their own preferences and what they choose to emphasize, of course.

Just because I'm not dating men, doesn't mean I don't know what traits are unattractive.

As I said, it depends on the woman.

Some women hate facial hair. Some love it.

Being bald is also ok these days. Just shave the whole thing off and you're a sexy mofo!

Again it depends on the woman. Though most agree that thinning hair and male pattern baldness is generally unattractive.

Honestly, to the short guys who keep trying to prove that they can't get dates because of their height by citing past stories and articles and random statistics that they got from who knows where on this thread..if you're determined to allow your height to rule your dating life, that's your prerogative. The rest of us can try all we want to prove that you're wrong but really, it's up to you. If you allow your height to get in your way, then it absolutely will. But there are millions of short men out there who don't allow their height to hinder them who have perfectly normal dating lives.

Sure, it might be slightly more difficult for you to get dates, but it's certainly not impossible. Either do something about it or keep complaining and being miserable. It's completely up to you.

Some women like chest hair, some don't, some women like grey hair, some don't, some women like blonde hair, some don't!

It goes on and on! We don't all like the same things. But those are not big things on the grand scheme of things.

I agree that height and weight have more of a stigma, but I know so many short guys and obese guys that are happily paired off, I'd have to say it's not *THAT* unattractive either!!!

I recently met actor Rick Howland (Tv show Lost Girl), who is 4'7". He was a hit with the ladies! And he's married.

Yeah, sometimes I forget where I am. Don't ask me how.

I'd reiterate

What good does it do for you to search out confirmation to your idea that all women spurn short guys? Wouldn't it be more helpful to you if yu would find instances that it was not the case, and post links to THOSE?

In fact, I think this about that Twitter account every time someone raises it. Its raison d'etre is confirmation bias.

Ouch, that hurts.

Just what I needed to read after an already stressful two days.

If those people on that twitter feed believe what they say, then i pity them.

I pity anyone who embraces hate as a badge of honor.

Don't take these people seriously, if only people had an ignore button in real life :D

The important thing is to establish yourself as man vs. boy. Height helps, as does facial hair (yum!), but there are so many other ways.

Question for the struggling guys: what are your manliest qualities? (Physical or otherwise)

To that end, coming on here and whining over and over again about something you can't control and that isn't even that big a deal, is very UN-masculine. Much more of a turn-off than being down a few inches on the scale.

The problem is that they busy themselves worrying about their height, and probably go through a little denationalization like anxiety suffers (who worry about their anxiety all the time). They've become their own insecurities, instead of focusing on their positive attributes.

Cupid Shmupid (5'2) however, is a counterexample to the articles I posted.

Sample video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRY2l5jmIpo

That one is from Simple Pickup, but Cupid actually has his own channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcptQtDgqNwQfCJ1UZzNDSQ

This guy...just wow...

I watched some of his like actual serious advice videos and in one of them (

), and his "trick" seems to be "say what you want". Edited by R3d

Turn off to who?

Random people on the internet that I will never meet in real life?

By the way: my cousin got married yesterday, and he's short. I'm just over 5' 2", and he isn't much taller than me. He isn't rich, either, but he's never been without a girlfriend, and he is very happy with his wife.

I assume the short guys on here do know the fashion "tricks" that can be used to get more positive feedback from the target audience.

I did find that i have been using some of them my whole dating life anyway but there are a few that may not have been doing me any favors too.

I have not witnessed this height bias in my life and i'm not saying that following these fashion "tricks" will help every short guy out there but what harm can come from trying out some of them?

In the short time i have been using more of these "tricks" i have definitely seen more approving looks from women.

I'm 38 so apparently you can teach an old dog new tricks :D

Ha ha!

Sorry, I don't buy any of that, women have a sixth sense nonsense.

Random people who have given you their time and attention repeatedly, over the years.

Since I'm not trying to date or have sex with them, then it's not really a concern if they're getting turned off.
