Did I wait too long to call? I don't think I did.

There's a woman I met at my job whom I helped a couple of times. She even called and asked for me by name. Anyway, the last time I helpd her I was like f it I might as well ask her out. I don't like hitting on woman at work and really only do it if I have the showroom to myself becasue it would be too awkward in front of other people. We were walking back in and I said "So are you down to get a drink when you get back?" and then a coworker walked in and there was a pause but when he left she said yeah. It wasn't the most romantic way I asked her but it's what came out.

I asked her the Friday before last so there was not rush to get into contact IMO becasue she driving out of state to where she moved from. I texted her the following monday, general convo about her car and stuff and she replied immediately and said she didn't take that vehicle and would be back Saturday so I said I'd be in touch and she said sounds good. Now, we have never been out so to me there was no reason to initiate any more contact with her until she came back. I called her yesterday evening and left her a vm to call me or text me back when she gets a chance and she hasn't called/texted back yet. Opinions??

Give it another day. Aren't you going to see her at your workplace?

She is a customer so who knows when she'll come in again.

Give it another day then call or rather text again once more. Then that's it.

She was never interested to begin with, another case of the gender most skilled at communication being unable to say no.

Right and then they wonder why the ones they want to hit on them don't. It's becasue of crap like this. Now mabye she'll call/text back we'll see in a couple of days but we all know in the tech era peoples phones are glued to them so she knows I called her.

She doesn't owe you anything though.

Has it even been 24 hours? I think you're jumping the gun.

How long do you take to call or text back a man you're interested in:)??

Like I said, give it another day. She might still be interested yet just busy with other stuff. Get other numbers in the meantime.

It depends on what is going on in my life and how interested I am. If we've only had a couple of casual conversations, you probably would not be my priority (just being totally honest). If you guys had been out a few times already, I might think differently. At this point, all she probably knows is that she's interested enough to get a drink with you - maybe not interested enough to drop other things to return your call immediately. She's been out of town for a week, yes? If yesterday was her first day back at work, I'd imagine she might have had a lot of catching up to do. She might be like me and be bad at checking voicemail. She could have had personal obligations after work last night and thought it too late to call when she was done. Could be anything. I'm not saying she is interested for sure, but I think it's too soon to write her off as uninterested. I'd hang tight for another day or two, unless you're totally over it.

Thanks for the advice but I call once and that's it now. I already erased her# so we'll see what happens.

She got back Sat so I didn't want to hit her up the same day she got back so I called her yesterday. Given the fact that we have never been out I think not contacting her after the inititial was proper protocol. I guess after a 3 day window I'll know for sure. I'm just jaded and tired of the dating game. She may not be calling back right away due to not wanting to look too available who knows? I'm just wondering becasue she replied instantly the first time??

I don't think you waited too long to call at all. And I totally understand being jaded - it's easy to think the worst in these situations when you've experienced it in the past. I also think you're exactly right to consider that she might be playing it cool. Despite the gender wars/debates on this board, both men and women have been hurt, both men and women are jaded, and we all play "games" to some extent to try to guard against being hurt again. Again, not trying to give her a pass - just food for thought. Also think not contacting her again is your best move... I know some people will tell you to try one more time, but once someone shows me they aren't interested, I prefer to simply keep it moving to someone who is. ;)

She hasn't called back and I called her on Mon. Ladies this is why most men don't cold approach women. Mind you it's most women's dream to meet their man somewhere other than a bar. All it would of taken was a "Thanks but no thanks". Hell we were in a store what was I gonna do? Jump over the counter and choke her if she said no?

Sorry it didn't work out. I've tried doing that twice myself. It worked out once and I managed to go on dates with someone I had randomly met. Turned out she was an escort. Trust me, you couldn't tell. She didn't confess it to me, I just found out. It was awkward from that moment on. We stopped dating. True story, hope you enjoy.

But then again what am I complaining about? I'm a man, it's my "job" to put myself out there, it's the price of admission. Apparently saying no thanks is harder than asking a woman out whom you dont know, don't know is single or not, or interested if she is lol. Or mabye she wants to see how intersted I am by ignoring the call to see if I'll call again. I won't.

She texted me back asking how much a tune up would cost for her truck (I worked and an auto place). I haven't replied yet. So I guess it's just a strictly platonic thing for he but then again she could of called the store, or mabye she wants me to do it for her myself cheaper lol which I may I just quit my job and don't start my new one till next week. What do yall think??

Posted

Perhaps she wants it cheaper. I think she might be playing with you in a good sense. I hope she doesn't just want to get a deal.

Perfect opportunity to hit her back with a flirty reply... "Depends how you want to settle the bill ;)" or something simliar
