Since I have felt I am moving on slightly since my break up many things have gone through my mind. Basically thinking about what my needs and true wants are in a relationship. Lots of us on here have spoken about the red flags that we saw ect and we chose to ignore and carry on anyway. I don't think I thought about my relationship fully before getting into it and although we got on well in lots of ways and seemed to have lots of similar life goals I don't believe I got everything I need from relationship so I decided to write out something That I will try to ask myself or look for before starting another relationship and wondered what others will do differently next time around.

1. Make sure the ex is well out of the new partners life and they have fully moved on, this goes for me also.

2.Make sure the person is supportive and caring and doesn't just worry about themselves.

3. Make sure we have similar view and goals or the relationship is pointless from the beginning.

4. assert myself so I don't put my needs behind others (well obviously sometimes you do when you love someone) but not to the point where it makes me unhappy.

5. Don't allow myself to be manipulated or made to feel guilty for or responsible for someone elses happiness.

6. Take things VERY slow and make sure it is right before commiting.
