Xestenz Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Would be interesting for folks to share some of the wild things that their ex's told them regarding why they broke up with them -- thus cowardly avoiding having to face reality and tell the truth. In my case, after six months of great fun, intimacy, communication, and growth, my girlfriend told me that she needed 'space' to assist in the care of her aunt who was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer, and to deal with the stress that situation imposed on her already busy life. A little over a month later, she was with a new guy! And, she -- a 40 year old woman -- broke up with me by text. Wow. Was clearly just a case of GIGS and rebound (in retrospect she was not fully over her ex husband, even after a year and a half). I'm an adult - why not just tell me what you want? Too funny. Any other folks have stories of whacky/crazy break up excuses?
KatZee Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I got the standard BS excuse of "It's not you it's me" <--- this was actually said to my face. I just stared at him and was like, that's real cliche of you but what's the real reason. He stood there like a mute idiot, fumbling, "uh er um, I don't know what you want me to say." I got, "I need to be single to 'find' and 'fix' myself." I got, "I still want to be your friend." I got like every single cliche statement in the book. It was almost laughable. In fact, if he wasn't sobbing in my face I probably WOULD have started laughing. Almost three years together and that's what you tell me? Give me a break, coward. 1
62083 Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 My last ex just told me that he liked me but wasn't ready for a relationship but maybe if we stay friends we will get back together. I called him out on this false hope and he goes its the truth, I don't know what will happen in the future(not bc he actually thought it cld happen)!
