tenspoons Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I was just curious if anyone thinks if it's a good or bad idea to talk to your date before you go on the date. Like you talk on the phone a few days beforehand just to chat/flirt. Whenever I talk to my date like that beforehand I feel like it helps things along because you break the ice before the date, but on the other hand it also kills the suspense and amount of conversations you can have on the actual date. What do other people think? Does it even make a real difference if it's not the first date coming up?
Algermas Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I try to minimize verbal contact to the bare minimum required to get laid.
Emilia Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I try to minimize verbal contact to the bare minimum required to get laid. Judging by your posts here I think it's the wisest thing you can do to improve your chances 1
Philosoraptor Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I think you have to judge it on a case by case basis. I'm all for communication beforehand. I feel like it will only give you more to talk about as you will have time to think about what they said on the phone before the actual date. If you run out of things to talk about that quick it probably wasn't going to go well anyways. 1
oaks Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I'm going with "it depends". Unfortunately I'm not really sure what it depends on! Sometimes I've spoken before a date and sometimes I think that has been good, but often I don't, and sometimes I do and then wish I hadn't. Latest girl... Haven't met her yet but we spoke for about half an hour before running of stuff to talk about. Hopefully they're will still be things to talk about when we meet.
