So I've been speaking to a friend of a friend for a while now, and just recently we went for a couple of dates. On our 3rd date, we went to a baseball game.

We were watching the game, and I was sort of daydreaming (opps)...

Suddenly, i hear him go, "watch out", and then I see the baseball fly at me. It ends up hitting 3 chairs away from me so I wasn't injured or anything.

I look over, and he's in the aisles. He had such fast reflexes that he flew out of his seat and flew over to the aisle (we were about 5 seats in) but yet, he didn't have the reflex to pull at my arm to tell me to move my butt...

Now, it's not that I'm always a damsel in distress, but when I am one, I would sort of like the boy to be capable to step up to the plate.

This issue clearly upset me, and I sort of made a remark along the lines of, "Thanks for saving me". He replied with something about how if that ball were to hit, you would need more than just stitches (That's why he reacted so fast...)

Errrmmmm.... Sort of conflicted since I really like this boy, but what he did was not acceptable in my books... Sigh

Thoughts? Am i over reacting?

Yeah you are, it's your 3rd date.

Right, okay, so when would it be considered to be an issue?

3 months dating, 6 months dating, 1 year?

I mean he told you to move. Do you want every guy to take a bullet for you or fight someone if necessary for you? I'm confused as to what the issue is, that he didn't physically warn you?

As a woman I can tell you that yes, you over-reacted. It sounds like you may not really like this guy and need an excuse not to see him again.

If I was on a date and a guy told me to move, I would move and not question why he didn't throw his body in front of me, or de-socket my arm from my shoulder in an attempt to save me. It was the 3rd date. You barely know each other.

He had good boundaries and obviously liked you enough to warn you to move. He could have stayed silent and let you get hurt. Try to relax and enjoy his company if you like him. No need to nit pick and over-analyze the poor guy's every move on the 3rd date.

Day dreaming when there are solid balls flying around is not a good idea.

Pay attention.

and don't go watching stock-car racing.

You're not safe to go.... :D

Alright alright, perhaps I was over reacting then...

Or the damsel in distress got the better of me...

Thanks all!

For all you know, he is pissed at you for not paying attention and having an opportunity to catch a ball!

What if he's on another relationship board reporting: "Geez, I brought this girl to a game and she had totally spaced out when a ball was coming towards us - doesn't bode well for a future with her, huh, if she just sits and daydreams... Guys- do you think I should dump her now before it goes too far?"
