Grasped at a straw and it broke

I had posted on this subject on the past. A matchmaker wanted to put me and this man together, but she seems to have dropped the ball on it. For more information on it (and responses from said forum, see this link):

I decided just to close the book on it, since the matchmaker did not do whatever she intended to. So this past week, I sent the man in question an email through Facebook asking if he was going to see the latest play at the theater where we are both active (since I am trying to arrange a MeetUp group for it, and he is also active in MeetUp, and I was wondering if he would join in on the arranged date since I was trying to get more people to join in). He responded saying he was going this weekend but was scoping it out to see if the subject matter was too risque to have his parents and daughter come and see it (they live out of state). I said "Ok, let me know!"

And tonight, I knew that he goes to a trivia night at a bar nearby on Thursdays. For the hell of it, I thought I would casually pop in and see if he was there. He wasn't, I had chicken wings and iced tea and left. Feel kind of stupid, but I can't be the first who ever grasped at a straw.

Life goes on.

It does and you are right, you are not the first :)

Good for you for giving it a shot, and putting yourself out there.

Trivia nights are fun. Ever thought of going back and seeing who else you might meet while you are there?
