djjd9199 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 I know 100% that my girl has lied to me. It may be a small lie but I just cant help thinking that if she has lied to me about this she may be hiding much bigger lies. any advice on how to handle this would be much appreciated. Thanks
bentnotbroken Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Does a small lie make it any less a lie? What are you willing to accept? What are your boundaries? Make those clear to her and don't keep moving them to suit the situation. 2
DuchessKaye Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 I don't know but for me, once someone lied, magnitude isn't the point, big or small, he has already crossed the line, I couldn't ever trust him anymore. That's just me.
SomedayDig Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Confront her in a very easy going way and simply ask "Why". Don't be overly confrontational, but just ask why she thinks lying to you over something "small" could ever be a good idea.
gaius Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Depends on what she lied about and why she lied. If a 40 year old woman claims to be 37 on a dating site I don't think it necessarily means she'll be off with some other guy every time she claims to be at the hairdresser.

My husband has lied to me before...small, but it was still a lie. Confront her and ask her why she lied.
2sunny Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 A small lie is an indicator that there are other lies... So NO - its not ok!

Thanks What did she lie to you about? Like a white lie or a lie/lie? Tell her that you'd rather know the absolute truth even if it upsets or pisses you off, that you won't tolerate lying.
Coil Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I second what was said about white lies. woman "Does this dress look good on me?" man "YES, it looks great!" woman "how is the dinner that I made for you" man "It tastes good dear" big difference between little white lies to spare someones feelings and regular lies.
