I've been seeing this girl since February. We recently had the conversation about titles, and now I am the boyfriend, she is the girlfriend, etc. I'm 30, she's 27. Her dad, his wife, and the half-sister are in town this evening, and tomorrow. She has mentioned me meeting them, I've responded favorably, but no plans are set in stone when it comes to me meeting them. They're from out of state.

My question is this: if she flakes out and does not introduce me, doesn't that mean, under all circumstances, that she doesn't see us as "future" material? I think it does, and there is no hint of there being any kind of bad relationship between her and them, so if I did not meet them, it wouldn't be because of that at all.

I can straight up ask her, but only after they leave town, and by then it will be me breaking up with her over the non introduction snub. There is no problem on my end with her meeting my people.

I'm just venting, but I am stressing this, and unsure if I even need to be.

Why don't you be pro-active: "Hey, you mentioned your family is in town for a short while - don't I get to meet them?"

And see how she answers...

Ya Carrie, you make a strong point. I can get the news from her right now. Just a text away...

On the other hand, if I wait it out, then I will have her action telling me where her heart is at. If I am future material, she'll either make the meeting tomorrow, or she'll not; whereas if I push for the meeting by rolling with your suggestion, then it is my idea when it should be hers.

If she has a high interest level in me, then this opportunity for her to show it seems golden. Right? I want to see where her interest level is at in stark, clear terms, and I don't want to influence the outcome by selling her the line you've provided. The line is pro-active, open, honest etc, but it is also manipulative, because how can she say "no" to me in that instance? Maybe I just don't want to hear the flaky lie from her. I do want her to call up and have me roll over there.

We've planned a trip where we will see my parents this summer. I feel it's sort of a foregone conclusion that I should see hers now. Plus, she lives close by, a 5 minute walk. She can call, make it happen, sending me the right message, or she can snub me, and I then know exactly where things stand.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and thanks for the input!
