carhill Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Two months ago, I passed my personal record, 24 months, which occurred starting around age 30. It's really kind of easy not to date; I simply don't ask women on dates. Over and done. Back then, it was costing me too much and I wanted to focus on other investments. Now, I'm just plain tired of it, having been married.
olivec Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 The longest i went was 3 years after a relationship i was in for 5 years. i've been on 3 dates this year but nothing clicked with any of them. i've been more focused on myself lately to be perfectly honest.
Leopard Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 The longest I haven't been on a date (since I started dating) would be... Oh my gawsh. Only 5 months! I thought it was longer because I had big breaks between relationships, but I have been on dates during those breathing periods. Most of them were just one or two dates because I didn't end up liking the guy, but I would say 5 months without a date.
WonderKid Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I have not been dating since a year really. I choose to be single because I just feel better about it. And if I find a woman worthy of my feelings then it could be great. But for now I just focus on me and not invest my time into dating.
Princess71 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I was wondering how long everyone on here has gone without dating someone ... anyone. No interaction ... even for coffee. On purpose. And why? I went a year due to abandonment and health issues... and mostly feeling opposite sex had nothing but grief to offer. I'm not sure if that was healthy... but I don't hop from one to next...so on. Just to clarify, when you say " on purpose", does that mean that if you met someone, a coworker or friend, or was introduced to someone you thought you might like, that you would not take it further because you weren't in the right place to date??
FitChick Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I thought that myself. He might be a Virgo though..... You notice he didn't answer either one of us. That means he is a Scorpio because they are secretive! 1
Emilia Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Months and months after I split up with someone I really like. I'd rather start a new relationship with a clear head and have past issues more or less clearly resolved. It also takes a while for me to get over emotional connections and I don't do ONS anymore.
ThaWholigan Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 You notice he didn't answer either one of us. That means he is a Scorpio because they are secretive! True, but I think the analytical nature of his posts, and the near perfection in his critique of certain situations screams Virgo to me . Comes with the territory of being a Virgo male.
d'Arthez Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 True, but I think the analytical nature of his posts, and the near perfection in his critique of certain situations screams Virgo to me . He is Virgo. I suppose I used to be a Virgo a few years ago.
ThaWholigan Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 He is Virgo. I suppose I used to be a Virgo a few years ago. I think once people get to know me, they recognize that I am pure Virgo at heart . The Pisces Ascendant always throws them off.
snug.bunny Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I thought that myself. He might be a Virgo though..... NP is a Virgo.
dasein Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 About a year, has been great. May crank back up in the Fall or may not.
RedRobin Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I thought that myself. He might be a Virgo though..... I'm not a big fan of astrology, but sometime it is eerily correct. So, which sign do you think I am?
ThaWholigan Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I'm not a big fan of astrology, but sometime it is eerily correct. So, which sign do you think I am? I actually don't know. I want to guess Cancer but you seem a bit too fiery for that . I think Aries or Leo.
RedRobin Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 After my divorce, I went on a self-imposed celibacy kick for two years so that I could learn to be friends with men and get over my 'addiction' to love. Or so it felt at the time. This was shortly after a man climbed down a power pole to ask me out, and another the next day in the check out aisle also asked me out. I gave myself a crew cut (ala the movie "Elizabeth" where she ceremoniously cuts all her hair and gives her life to England... yea, ok, a bit on the dramatic side). That did the trick. That's ok. I knew my marriage was over when I saw the movie "The Piano". The scene where she 'speaks' to her husband without words... "I'm afraid of my will, of what it might do, it is so strange and strong. She said, I have to go, let me go." *sigh*
RedRobin Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I actually don't know. I want to guess Cancer but you seem a bit too fiery for that . I think Aries or Leo. That's good to know. I've been ducking the Virgo label for a long time. Whenever I read a description of one, they sound like the most boring, critical people ever. So, yea. Glad I seem like an Aries or Leo That suits me fine. ha ha.
d'Arthez Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I'm not a big fan of astrology, but sometime it is eerily correct. So, which sign do you think I am? I'd suggest the creation of a new thread, since this may end up being moderated and removed by the mods, as it is seriously off-topic.
ThaWholigan Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I already created the Astrology thread over in the Water Cooler......
