The curse of the 'shy' strikes again...

How the hell do you combat that feeling when you come over all shy?

 

I'm a confident person, constantly finding comedy in every day situations, happy to be cheeky and flirt with women who are obviously out of my reach, I work in events and deal with a lot of high profile speakers (sometimes celebrities but mainly politicians & newsreaders/journalists) and it never phases me when I have to fit them with a tie clip lapelle mic or explain about the technology we're using etc. and 99% of the time I come across as confident & sure of myself (without being cocky).

 

But then there's this one girl who can give me a single look, not even say anything, and I'm wobbly nervous wreck. I hate to think how it makes her feel, never mind how silly it makes me look.

 

How do you guys deal with this sort of stuff? Oh and btw if anyone suggests picturing her naked to make me feel more relaxed, she already jokingly showed me a picture of her in her bikini after she's put a LOT of effort in at the gym - now I'm even more nervous around her lol.

why are you nervous ? afraid of rejection ? afraid of what ?

 

Just go for it , you dont have nothing to lose ... the only thing you lose in not going after her is if other guy is interested in her .

 

The way i see things is , dont think about what is going to happen , think about what is NOT going to happen if you dont try .

well this is the thing, we're real good friends and we meet up to cook dinner together and we're talking about doing ski lessons together and stuff, but it's like the line of being friends:slightly more is always shifting, so I guess I'm in a muddle about whether it's ok to flirt right now or are we in friend mode?

 

She's quite flirty and outrageous anyway, but we could be getting along just great, and she'll make a joke and I get hit with this "aw wow you're just amazing" type feeling, then I start to stumble a little bit. All v. confusing...
