This might be either a change of pace for the forum, or just completely misplaced but I figured I'd try to get some input on a seemingly simple gesture.

So my girlfriend is a Med student in her 3rd year, her next rotation is an overnight shift that begins on Sunday for about a month - which means she won't be coming home until 5am Monday morning and will be completely exhausted. But I wanted to have something nice left out for her on the counter to come home to, a gift, something small, a card, i don't know?

Problems: I would have breakfast or something waiting, but she's going to just want to pass out. I want to do some simple flowers that she loves, but we'll be together all day Sunday and I don't know if I can get flowers anywhere on a Sunday night once she's left.

I have a few other ideas but I just thought I'd put this out there for some other 'outside the box' ideas. Thanks in advance!

Aww that's so sweet! This might be too much but I think it would be nice if you lit some candles, so it smells good when she opens the door. Have rose pedals trailing from the door to the bathroom. Have a hot bath already ready for her with maybe rose pedals inside [if she takes baths] and leave her flowers on the sink with a personal note saying how proud of her you are and/or how much she means to you. If you don't think she's too tired maybe you could have dinner or breakfast waiting for her [seeing how its 5am] or have a little snack of maybe her favorite fruit or dessert in the bathroom. Just a suggestion

Would you please answer mine. I need a guys input:

My husband once for a whole week when I was on nights and we were like passing ships in the night left little post it notes everywhere for me! In the fridge, in my bag, in the bed and in with my underwear! He only ever wrote one liners like "I love you sooo much" etc but it meant the world to me!

Simple gesture that cost nothing yet meant everything!
