Ross MwcFan Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 So what's the main reason you'll stare at a guy when you're out in public? Recently I've been catching a lot of women looking at me when I'm out in public. As soon as I catch them looking at me, they always look away.
FrustratedStandards Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 LOL And THIS ladies and gentleman is why women are frustrated with men.
pteromom Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Ummmmmmm. Could be many reasons. - They find you attractive. - You walk or move in a way that catches people's attention. - You have a really cool shirt on. - You have something in your hair. If you saw me staring at you, it would be because your hair and coloring looks a lot like my young son's and I would be wondering if he will look like you when he grows up.
Imajerk17 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 It means they are checking you out. Go talk to them!
Cracker Jack Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 They can't get enough of you, Ross. Approach them and give yourself a fair chance.
Disenchantedly Yours Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Do most guys really not know what it means when a woman stares at you???????
Els Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Uhhh. It could be any number of things. The thing that strikes me the most is that you said 'recently'. Did you make any changes to your appearance recently?

fortyninethousand322 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I'd love to be able to say that it's because women want you to approach, but in my experience that's not what it means at all. Often, they're annoyed if you go up and talk to them. So, who knows.

But, you have to wonder, why were they staring in the first place if they weren't attracted?

But, you have to wonder, why were they staring in the first place if they weren't attracted? I've definitely stared at people who were so unsightly or had a feature so unsightly that I couldn't help but stare...for example, I once saw a girl at Walmart who was quite attractive....petite, no more than 110 pounds...but she had these really long feet...and she was wearing sandals, so they became even more pronounced with her skinny legs...I couldn't help but stare and sneak occasional glances...
Oxy Moronovich Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Do most guys really not know what it means when a woman stares at you??????? If it doesn't mean she's interested in you then most guys do not care.
HeavenOrHell Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) For me I notice men who appear unconventional, and have a friendly face, warm smile, kind eyes, most of all. People get stared at for one of two reasons, either because the person thinks they're attractive, or because they look a bit (or a lot) different to the 'norm,' ie dress differently, or have a birthmark, anything which makes them stand out (I get derogatory comments about my hair for example), and narrow minded idiots pick up on and stare or ridicule. However I would think you are being looked at because women think you are attractive and not for the latter reason! So, smile at them So what's the main reason you'll stare at a guy when you're out in public? Recently I've been catching a lot of women looking at me when I'm out in public. SmileFace Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) Every body stares but it was people do when they are caught staring. If I am caught staring by a attractive guy, I may turn my head and look down. However just because I find him attractive doesn't actually mean I am interested. In which case I may challenge the staring and not look away. Now if I am not attracted to a guy I may turn my head and turn my nose up if he catches me staring. Edited March 3, 2012 by SmileFace

KathyM Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 People look at others for a lot of different reasons. Sometimes, just because they are there. I wouldn't read anything into it one way or another, unless the person is also smiling and prolonging the stare, which would indicate interest in you. Otherwise, I'd say it's nothing. If they turned their glance away immediately, then I'd say it's nothing. I remember going to a movie theater with my sister a few years ago, and I happened to look at a guy, just a brief glance, and I looked away right away. He was just in my line of vision and he happened to be looking at me when my eyes glanced over there. He somehow took that as indicating interest, and came to sit down by me at the theater, which was embarrassing for both of us when I obviously had no interest, since I was married and all. A glance only means interest if it is done repeatedly, or is prolonged. Otherwise, people are probably just surveying their surroundings, maybe scanning for people that they know, or something to that effect.
jobaba Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 This topic reminds me of a conversation two of my male college friends were having as the three of us were walking down the street. Friend A: "Yo _____, that girl was looking at you." Friend B (who happened to be a really good looking guy): "So what, that doesn't mean anything. I look at ugly girls all the time." Still ingrained in my memory because it's so true... 1
