So basically I decided for the longest time to add a picture to my facebook. I took a couple few pictures last few days. I also may decide to try online date sites but not really sure on them or my cup of tea. So figure kill 2 birds with one stone just incase by getting pictures.

I've been looking at my picture to try and determine if I aged gracefully or not. Mind you I don't really like taking pictures or look good in pictures since I'm one of those people where no matter what setting its in, I can't seem to look good in a picture. The only thing I know is that I wish I was 20 years younger. lol. Some people as they get older still look good or even better while others look worst. I really can't tell on my own how I look these days. So figure might as well ask a much of random strangers I will never meet to get some honest opinion.

1. How old do I look in my pic?

2. Are wrinkles starting to show on me?

3. How do I look overall? This is mostly to the females poster I suppose.

Think I got a couple of years left before I go downhill if I haven't already started to go downhill.:lmao:

There is nothing wrong with you - wrinkles????? as if!!

What I would say is that you look too serious - a more relaxed pose less like a police line up shot (sorry :)) would be better.

Wrinkles and going downhill???? riiiight.

Asians IMO dont show their age to the same extent as caucasions thanks to their skin/genetics. I guess you are around 38, but could easily have said less if you hadn't made the 20 yrs younger comment.

I assume you just came out of a LTR and need a self esteem boost.

You look fine. I was prepared for you to be old, fat and bald. Maybe consider Lasik or contact lenses? Wrinkles on a man are not a big deal. George Clooney has had wrinkles since he was in his thirties thanks to too much sun.

When someone talks about aging gracefully it usually means they are too lazy to make an effort so they look like crap. I don't intend to age gracefully. I intend to look as good as Jane Fonda does when I'm her age. She is incredibly fit and strong, in addition to looking good. She is my role model.

You're a hell of a lot better looking than I am... spacer.png

Of course, a distinction must be made between aging gracefully, and aging disgracefully (the latter is a lot more fun).

I'm not gay so I won't comment on how you look except for the fact you don't have wrinkles or look old at all.

You're freaking out over nothing. You are in your prime of primes for dating so take advantage of it and have no regrets.

The best time span in dating for a man is 30-40, speaking by experience that is. You fall in there nicely... or even under that. Get out there an find yourself the love of your life. Good luck and best wishes.

Dude, you're Asian, you're going to age more gracefully than any caucasion. Black women are another example - they don't age. I have served mother/daughters and thought them to be sisters.

Are you aging gracefully? It depends on how old you are.

I wouldn't even be able to make a guess. 30 maybe? 28? I have no clue. Asians age well.

At a quick glance, I would have pegged you in your late twenties to early thirties. But you mention wanting to lose 20 years so you must be quite a bit older than my guess.

Posted

Unlike the others, I would have put you at closer to 35-38... but I think it's the hairstyle and glasses choice that make me think you're older.

That said, I don't think I've ever met a man who was concerned about aging, and I personally prefer to date a man with some expression lines. So, this is a new one.

you look like you're in your 30s, you look great. Just get another pic for your dating profile. A pic where you're smiling would make a big difference. A more relaxed pic, like someone on here suggested. But you don't look old at all. Don't see any wrinkles. Smile on the next pic you put up.

Personally I think that has to do with traditional Asian diets being healthier than Western diets. Although that is changing quickly as Asians are adopting Western diets due to Western companies selling products in Asian supermarkets and expanding fast food chains into Asia.

I think I read somewhere that Asians have on average grown 4 inches(10cm) in the last 50 years due to adopting milk in their diet, which is a trend started by Westerners.

I know an Asian guy who has the healthiest diet of anyone I have ever met. His diet is pure perfection. He carries along a book everywhere that breaks down ingredients and substances down to the molecular level and it explains the pro's and cons of it in terms of effect on the human body. He checks every ingredient and only eats foods with optimal ingredients. He's 27, but looks 13 (I kid you not). He has to show ID to watch PG-13 movies in the cinema. This guy is onto something. He's annoyed by people assuming he's a child though. So I suggested to him to grow a beard, but then again he'd look like a 13 year old with a beard, so hmmm.

To OP, I'd lose the glasses, go for something more trendy or contacts. Those glasses are kind of 80's, classics and iconic, but 80's. Also try (hair) products that don't give your hair a (greasy/wet) shine, but rather a matte/dry look. Your hair doesn't look bad though. Perhaps combing it forward will give less of an impression of a receding hairline. I'm not saying your hairline is receding, because that might be your natural hairline, but combing it to the back might give that impression to some people, combing it forward might have a favorable effect in that regard. I'd say play with those suggestions to see if it has some favorable outcomes.

1. i'd say you look about mid 30's, but that's probably more to do with your hair style and frames than anything else. change it up a bit (ie., something more 'fashionable' i guess), and you could probably take 5 - 7 years off of your look.

2. i don't see any.

3. you seem fairly fit, which is a huge bonus in this increasingly obese world :lmao:

*4. you begin to go downhill the moment you internalise and believe that you're going down hill. it's all in your mind. ;)

You look 29.

I don't see a single wrinkle.

You look earnest.

I'm a guy, but..

Jeeze... you look around 30. Old? You look pretty healthy and fit to me.

I would suggest you try contacts or get some better glasses. You'd be surprised what a difference it will make (it did for me!).

You could probably go for a more trendy looking hair cut, but even then it looks fine.

Jeeze dude... I'm guessing if you had a better opinion of yourself you could do pretty good with the women.

You're not a bad looking guy. You have potential. I would suggest losing the glasses. They are not attractive on you. At least take them off for pictures and for dates. You may want to look into getting contact lenses or even have laser eye surgery. I'd suggest a different haircut. You could do much better than what you have now. Lose the 5 o'clock shadow. You can't really pull off that look. Buy some more attractive clothes. I'd suggest dark colors on you, such as black. With a cooler wardrobe, no glasses and better hairstyle, you'd be a pretty decent looking guy. Shouldn't have any problem getting dates. Just make sure you expand your net, and don't just go after the pretty ones.

I personally find glasses on a guy cute but those ones are way too large and out of date. Go and get some smaller/trendier glasses and that will make a big difference. Also try look more relaxed and I agree about changing the style of the hair, just pushing it back a bit like the other poster said

As long as you don't drink much and you never smoke, you'll be able to look good 10 to 20 years longer than people who drink a lot and smoke.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I work in a place that is mostly older people and they all tell me I look younger but when people who are in their 50s or older telling you you look young, that don't mean much since late 30s is young for people in their 50s.

1. The type of glasses I wear has been with me for a long time since I was in my teen years. So it's kind of set in my ways on wearing that type, not that I'm willing to try new types but its really hard to judge yourself on how you look with different frames. Sales people always tell you that you look good to get a sale and friends don't care how you look to them so they just say you look fine. I can't wear contacts even though it was suggested to me by the eye doctor. I have problem just putting eye drops in my eyes so the idea of sticking contact lenses into my eyes isn't very appealing and down right scary. Those glasses are difinetly 80's since I grew up in the 80's and they look good then. lol.

2. Not much to say about my hair or if I can even change it. Currently battling hair loss problems that most guys my age have. I'm just lucky I still have some front hair left.:(

3. I can't smile. I've been told I have a bad smile and me smiling on a picture would actually make the picture worst. lol That's why I always hated taking pictures.

The glasses is the one thing I can probably change later this year.
