So I've been going out with this girl for about a month. Met online, switched messages for a week or so, then finally asked her out.

It's nothing serious right now. She told me she didn't want to be in a relationship, which was fine with me. Though I'm not opposed to being in one with her :).

So we're trying things out as friends. We've gone out only twice in the past four weeks and occasionally text each other. I'm busy with work and she has summer school, but we enjoy each other's company.

So for outing #3, I decided I needed a break from planning something for us, so I told her I had the day off and that I'll do whatever she wanted to do. She suggested a 8am morning walk along the lake with breakfast tacos afterwards.

I came to the meeting spot early. 8am came and went, but she didn't show. I called her at 8:15 to check on her, went to voicemail. At 8:30, she called me and told me she was just waking up. After saying sorry repeatedly and telling me she'd reschedule, I just told her "Alright, fine" and left.

It's one thing if she stood me up on something I planned and a lot of the advice I found is from the "planner gets stood up on the first date" POV.

But what should I do if the planner (her) is the one that stood me up on our third date?

Next time text or call to confirm before you show up.

From what you say she sounded genuinely sorry and I assume she over slept and its not a case of something better came up. She did offer to rescheule, which for me would be essential to make any effort to continue to be with her. Its much better than getting the 'chillout' or 'whatever' response to your dissatisfaction.

Personally I would have been inclined to txt her while I was on my way to the lake, especially if there was a bit of travel involved.

You did say its not going to be serious with you two, so you can't get too hung up on being a priority in the other person's life, but I expect she will call you to make another date, but probably not so early in the morning this time.

In my opinion, it was very disrespectful. She was just getting up, yes, but she couldn't be late to meet you?

She might have genuinely done it on accident though because it was pretty early in the morning and her alarm hadn't gone off.

I'd give her another chance, but if she keeps ditching you, don't give her the time of day. Also make it so that you can possibly do other things on days when you're supposed to meet here, so you don't clear your whole day for her and get nothing.

Thank you very much for the replies so far.

What I really want to know is what course of action should I take?

I am thinking about contacting her, because she's actually very receptive of honesty. When we first started going out, she told me she didn't want to be in a relationship when I asked her out for date #2. After a week, I told her I thought she was being presumptuous. A relationship after only one date? Please. To my surprise, she actually agreed with me.

Plus, I personally have a "a bad answer is better than no answer" mentality, hence why I'm leaning towards contacting her over not.
