daisydukes Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 (edited) I met a guy on POF and we talked last night and now we are thinking of meeting up for drinks. I keep worrying what if he bails?? He seems interested but he never gave me a direct time. I said hey want to meet up for drinks and he said sure! I will give you a call when I get off work okay? I just keep worrying he will bail. He asked me where the bar is and I said where do you live?? He said I live outside Chicago ( I live downtown) and he said okay and I said I think it's a half and hr from you probably and he said well if it is a half and hr ( not sure if he was kidding) I probably won't come. I am freaking out now!! I really like this guy but if he cannot drive a half and hr to meet me then it isn't going to work. I have seen people drive an hr to meet the person they like. I mean with express ways and no much traffic you can get anywhere pretty quickly. Am I right?? If a guy is interested he will go through many hoops to get to you correct?? Author daisydukes Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 I said how about between 730- 8? So techinally he never gave me a time I just suggested it and he said okay. He never said hey see ya at the bar at 730 that works for me.
ilovedhim Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 sounds like both of you set up for a casual meeting. but yeah him saying 30min is too much is not a good sign. i live in NYC and that's the time it takes to go from mid-town to the bars, so not a hassle. i agree don't expect much if he shows good if not oh well.
Author daisydukes Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 I don't want to show up and get stood up. I have to take a cab to get to the bar I am supposedly meeting him at and if he doesn't show up I will feel really depressed and upset I spent taxi fare on getting stood up.

Have you considered that he may have the same reservations?
HopelessR Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Just go for it! And hey, if you get stood up maybe you'll meet someone else the bar ;-)
Author daisydukes Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 He finally called! Now I tend to drink when I am nervous and now I am tipsy. That isn't a good thing right??
oaks Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 He finally called! Now I tend to drink when I am nervous and now I am tipsy. That isn't a good thing right?? Well, don't turn up drunk at the beginning of a date, especially a first date. It's disrespectful for starters. Glad to hear that he called. Hope you have a good evening.
Author daisydukes Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 Thanks! I hope so too! I just hope we talk alot and there is sparks flying everywhere because lack of talking sure kills the mood that is for sure:cool:
