Cassandra92 Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 I just remembered one of my favourite quotes from an author I like called John Green: "What a treacherous thing to believe that a person is more than a person." I think it says a lot about the pedestals we put people on - people who often treat us badly and do not deserve our love and devotion. We imagine them to be almost holy, they make us weak at the knees and we would do anything for them - forgetting that they are really just one human being out of more than six billion. I know for sure that I am guilty of this, and I wonder why I am so able to idolise this person while I care so little about my own health and emotions. Just my thought for today. Stilicho Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 definitely a great quote. i think we out exes on pedestals because of how it ends. suddenly, we are left with a huge hole in our lives, and instead of focusing on the negative aspects of theirs, we are stuck on what we miss, which are theyre positive qualities. we than begin to focus only on those qualities which makes them seem amazing in retrospect, and overshadows what they did to us imo.
