agt2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 I'm 3/4 Italian and 1/4 irish, tan skin, physically fit 5'9 180, definitely above average looking, have a pretty good job, and I am not ghetto. I live in New York born and raised here and haven't been able to seriously date a white girl since High School! In high school all the girls I dated were either full Italian or Italian mixed. I just can't seem to get white girls anymore! In person out in the club I'll see some checking me out here and there but that's about it. Online dating sites I have the least amount of success with white girls.Out at lounges,clubs, or online I have much better luck with other races. All of serious girlfriends in my adult life 18 and older were either Latina(Puerto Rican or Dominican) or East Indian. Right now I'm talking with a beautiful Dominican girl. I'm not complaining because I love the ethnic girls but I'm wondering if any other white guys have this problem lol?

When I was living in NYC, it was not "me" but my business card, education, "business access" that caught their eyes.

Most white women I know (myself included) actually don't prefer light features, specifically light/blonde hair and light skin. There's a reason the phrase is "tall, dark, and handsome" for a reason.

Its a silly saying from a hundred years ago it doesnt prove anything except we know women worship height Im not saying a tall dark haired guy doesnt get tons of women but allot of times light features are thought of as highly desirable I dont know how many women gush over my friends blue eyes like theyre the key to unlock the worlds mysteries

I used to live in Manhattan part-time and I remember how women would first tell you what their new love interest did for a living before describing how he looked. I got the very distinct idea that most women in the city were looking to land a powerful highly paid man.....and everything else was secondary to that.

My male cousin and my ex-bf (still friend) both live in NYC and both tell me there are tons and tons of beautiful women there who are romantically desperate because they outnumber the men by such a wide margin. They have both told me how much easier it is for them to date in NYC than anywhere else they've lived (and btw one of them is white but one of them is not, and the white guy is only 5'3"--both are under 6').

The "dark" part is dark eyes and hair. Josh duhamel or George Clooney are good examples. Although GC's hair is graying.

I grew up there, lived and worked there all my life until this year. If one is really fixed on "white" girls, it's tougher than other places because there are so many immigrants of differing features than there would be elsewhere, lowering the numbers of European white. Plus white girls born in the city are often disposed to leave whereas ones who weren't born and raised in the city often come to NY with ambitions which don't include falling for the average home-grown mick or ginny. I DID find one oasis of "whiteness" where there seemed to be loads of woman not fitting the profile I stated. It's Brighton Beach in Brooklyn where there are many many Russian imigrants. I went to a fee concert in Coney Island in '08 (Brian Wilson) and walked around before the show in Brighton Beach. I was gob-smacked by how many really attractive white women there were walking around the avenue under the L (elevated train). Knowing the lay of NY and Burroughs so well, I really thought WOW, I wonder how diferent my life would have been if there were this kind of white girl bounty. If you're from other areas of greater NY it's not likely you will see so much concentration of whiteness who don't fit the profile of snobby ambitious chicks coming to the city from other parts of America to get wealthy and retire early with Mr. Goodbar originally from Colorado or w/e.

Agree. Italians are White so I don't understand the OP's lament. And Latinas can also be "white" as well as East Indians who are racially considered White even if culturally they are othered. So again I don't understand what the big deal is. Having lots of relatives who lived in NYC all their life, with the sex ratio the way it is, White guys have a bounty of White women to choose and if they have yellow fever so much the better.

And I thought Italian was white as well...umm.. since I am 3/4 Italian and the other 1/4 is Irish, French, Swedish. So, since I have blonde hair is that the part that makes me 'white' even though I have the same backround(almost) as the OP... Or perhaps his racial confusion has turned the white Manhattan crowd off....

No more than 7 were white at any one time (three of them Zenophobic Greeks who would not consider dating anyone who wasn't Greek). I just wondered how much things would have been different if it were reversed for those 17 years--the other 93 caucasian and the exception 7 of other races instead of the other way around. It' not that I don't like other races because I do. But were there, say, 60 caucasian women out of 100 instead of 6 and that were the general demographic in the NY workplace overall, it stands to reason that it would have been a different social life for me. I expect that there must be other cities in the US where white guys don't have to face such an inbalance. The bottom line is that if you're born and raised in the city, it's really critical to find a conduit to others of your own demographic when you're brought together by institution like schooling. Because once you gradutate from school, you may find yourself in the middle of the melting pot without an oar--at least for some significant periods of your NY life.

First I am white being 3/4 italian and 1/4 irish is my backgroud but my race is 100% white. My lament is I haven't been in a relationship with a white girl since high school here in ny. And latinas are not white. At least not dominicans and puerto ricans. They are mixed with the spanish(spain) taino inidians who were native to the land and the african slaves if you want to be tehcnical. And east indians are not white either. I guess I should rephrase I am white and can't get a ny girl with european descent lol
