So, I dropped the "L Bomb"

I've been dating my boyfriend for a month now (we've known eachother for around 6 months) and the past couple of days I believe that i'm beginning to fall in love with him. Normally i would keep this information to myself because it's something that i'm not ready to share with him yet, unfortunately last night my brain and mouth didn't connect and while we were in bed i told him that i was falling in love with him.

His reaction wasn't at all bad, he hugged me tightly and kissed me and we layed tangled up in eachother for a while without a word before i asked him if that was the wrong thing to say, he said no, that he loved spending time with me but that he was a coward. To be honest it was the coward part of that statement that threw me most, i have no idea what he meant but i didn't push him on it.

 

Will the fact that i mentioned the "L word" change anything in our relationship? Have any of you ended a relationship because someone told you they loved you when you didn't feel the same way?

Maybe he meant that he was a coward because he was too afraid to say he loved you?

 

Based on his reaction, I think everything will turn out well. A month is super quick to drop the L word but he seemed more happy than freaked out.

A month is very quick, like i said it was something i'd been thinking about but on this occasion my brain kicked in a touch too late lol.

I don't think i'll mention anything again, it's out there now and i'd hate him to think i was pressuring him into having the same feelings as me. For now i hope the fact that he enjoys spending time with me is enough

Well, you said your piece. You'll now have to see if he good with it or not. Perhaps it's best to find out sooner than later. If I were you I wouldn't press it any further for a while but observe whether he draws closer or more distant.
