Hi everyone! I'm new here. I'm Sica. I want to ask for opinions on my work place flirtation situation.

I think he is interested but I'm just not sure. I'm afraid that is just a we-are-the-same-age-in-the-office kinda thing, so tell me what you guys think.

He comes into my office to chat 2-3 times per day to chat. Sometimes about nothing but lately we have been talking about common interests. I have also noticed that he comes around more when I am in the office alone (minus boss I mean). We exchange glances when he walks by my window, joke around, gossip about co-workers, friendly stuff mostly.

He makes eye contact, remembers things I tell him and made a big deal about my birthday. I know he has a live in girlfriend but he never says a word about her to me. Apparently she and I have the same birthday, he didn't tell me that just my boss. He mentioned her once before a long time ago when I first came to work there. Since then...nothing. He has mentioned her to my boss but not me. When we talk about weekend plans or events he never says "me and ____ did this" he just says "I".

I think he might be interested but I don't know for sure. I realize this isn't a lot to go on but I don't want to make this too long.

What does everyone think?

Yes, he's interested.

If you aren't, then why are you asking? :)

Because she was hoping people on here would take the slimy side of the situation. And not call her out on it.

Now she hit the brakes and put it in reverse to cover her tracks.

If the OP had good intentions from the start, she would have made that clear in her post.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I think you should boldly ask him in the hall at work one day: "hey, don't you have a girlfriend?"...

Depending on the answer... you respond: "well how come you never mention her???"

(that's if he says "why yes, I do")

Otherwise, and if he says "no"... or "not anymore"... then you say:

"well hey, how about you and I have dinner one night this week?"

Don't beat up the newbie, Serenity. ;) She might actually want to know before telling the guy to pike off.

She's entitled to help, just as the rest of us imperfect human beings are. :)

Not bad, I like it.

I am interested but I just don't want to make a fool of myself if they are still together or if he just sees me as a friendly co-worker. I want to know where I stand before I make any kind of move. I think you guys are right, I will ask him but when the conversation lends itself to be appropriate.

Hi sica. Welcome.

Do ask the guy. It seems you've turned his head. If he gives you evasive answers, perhaps you should forget him. It's not fair to you if he's in a live-in relationship and wants all the cookies at the cookie shop.

Thanks for the advice Frisky. I didn't have a good chance today but I will ask about her soon. I've been thinking a lot about it and I think I haven't asked before because I am very interested in him and I just don't want to hear the bad news. I'm gonna put on a brave face and ask tomorrow if I get an opportunity. Better knowing now than later.

Don't be a homewrecker. It's drama for all and it just isn't classy.

Didn't ask today but during a chat he told a story that included "we". He didn't say girlfriend but I figure that's enough. This whole thing has been a little childish of me and I've decided to stop thinking about it and just move on. Knitress is right, homewrecking is definitely not classy. I don't want to make things uncomfortable for either of us at work either so backing off the flirting is probably the best move I can make. Thanks for the advice everyone!

I saw them together today. Randomly driving in his car. I guess that ends it. She is beautiful and now I feel like s**t.
