We ended up going on a couple of dates but nothing physical happened since he was going back to his hometown a few days later. I now regret this and want to see him badly. If I call him and say I want to come and visit, would that be coming on too strong? Would it be better if I find another reason to visit his town so it would seem like I'm just passing by?

Well, I'm afraid he'll think I'm desperate if I'm ready to go that far just to see him. Do you think guys would run away if a girl did this, even if he were a bit interested?

Keep in mind the "he's just not that into you theory"...if he is interested in seeing you again, then he's not going to think you're desperate or any other nonsense that you make up in you mind...he's just going to be thinking how great it'd be to see you again...

I would spend time talking to him on the phone before making plans to visit him. Imho, that is too drastic-even if he is interested. Besides, if he is interested you could probably tell by his response.
