I've been working part time at this big company to fund my studies. There's this girl, Emily, who I often hang out with for lunch and stuff. Physically she's not my type at all but she's a really nice person and I enjoy her company.

Recently we had a training session on sexual and psychological harassment. All obvious stuff but we were all requested to attend. After the session Emily and I had a conversation about the session and I told her I personally never make the first physical move as that's the best way to stay out of trouble.

Emily readily responded that she agreed with what I said, that she never felt like I was trying to touch her, unlike all the other sleazy guys who hit on her.

Her reply left me wondering whether she thinks I'm interested but just holding back? That's one problem I could do without right now... ;)

Like you said, the best way to prevent any possible trouble is to not make the first move.

I do not have guy friends, or hang out with male acquaintances alone in order to prevent any potential drama.

Sounds like she might be interested in you and NOT necessarily that she thinks you're interested in her. I don't see that she made a move on you though. Don't freak.

I wouldn't assume anything at all. But then again, I wasn't there to see body language, tone of voice, ect...

Only thing I can add would be just know you are prepared to deal with whatever may (or may not) happen. I really wouldn't worry about it.

Just let it lie, those types of training sessions are a joke and get people needlessly riled up and confused in other ways than just the subject matter, as you have seen. You will have both forgotten it soon and can continue with your normal, healthy work friendship.
