So we both "winked"- now what?

I'm so irritated.

 

I understand that a lot of guys don't like to email first and whatever in online dating and I totally feel the frustration.

 

I have started the conversation with a few guys in online dating and each time we've gotten to the phone and whatever else and it basically ended on one of our parts.

 

Anyway, to be totally honest I am really sick of messaging guys when they might not have mutual interest, so I took the pansy girly way and "winked" at this guy. Well he "winked" back. WTF? Why wouldn't he just message me? Am I supposed to start the conversation now? I was truthfully trying to avoid being the first messenger because I am ALWAYS first and it NEVER works out.

 

Anyway I'm obviously going to have to message him now, but I don't understand why he didn't just message me. Does it mean anything that he chose to wink rather than message? Am I totally over analyzing?

Whenever I used to get winked at, the first thing I'd do is do a naked happy dance.

 

But seriously though, the most logical explanation for the double wink is that he isn't a paying member, so he is limited to winking back...

Not a paying member and playing it safe. winking is safe and shows a mild interests. Emailing is best, also the most risky and requires a subscription.

 

As a guy if I get a wink and I'm interested I'll write back.

You mentioned you are ALWAYS the first messenger... this means you are going for the super hot guys that have many options. Most girls get hit on by many many guys online... you always being the first messenger doesn't make sense to me

I guess I'm twisting it. I do get a lot of messages, not from people i'm interested in. People who I'm interested in never mail me first. The guys I'm messaging are 6s or 7s on the looks scale, not unattainable in my opinion.

Uh these are total strangers...strap on a pair and face the rejection. Not emailing will only result in a reduced chance of actually making a connection.
