irc333 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Lately, I've been seeing this on women's profiles (not only dating profiles, but FB and MySpace) ""I am selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes. I am out of control and hard to handle but if you can't handle me at my worst... then you sure don't deserve me at my best." - Marilyn Monroe" You think that's a big red flag right there?
TaraMaiden Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Certainly if I was a guy I'd probably see this as a thrown-down gauntlet. Almost a challenge, really. Are you man enough to take me on? However, don't forget that Marylin's associations and relationships with men is probably what ph*ukked her up in the first place.
Author irc333 Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 Yeah, she killed herself with drugs, and slept around (with Kennedy, too), lol I think someone needs a history lesson about that woman. She was even a crappy actress. Certainly if I was a guy I'd probably see this as a thrown-down gauntlet. Almost a challenge, really. Are you man enough to take me on? However, don't forget that Marylin's associations and relationships with men is probably what ph*ukked her up in the first place.
SilentVoice Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 This is what happens when people use quotes from people they know nothing about. I have seen many females use that same line -- many who were not aware of all the "doings " of M.M.
TaraMaiden Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 There is some doubt as to whether she actually administered the drugs which killed her.... Given the 'top' people she knew, she was a liability.
Ruby Slippers Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 That's one of the most overused-by-women quotes EVER. The lack of originality is what would turn me off.
Woggle Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 She was attractive but those who idolize a drug addict who self destructed are a red flag. If she were alive and the same age today she would not be much different Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton.
Stung Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 That's one of the most overused-by-women quotes EVER. The lack of originality is what would turn me off. For reals. My take is that the women who use that as some kind of tag line rarely know much about MM's sad history, they just remember her as a powerfully iconic sex symbol who had the love of some 'great' men. They're just trying to admit they're a little neurotic but imply that they're worth it because they're complex beauties who are great in the sack.
LoveAintEverything Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 All my 'friends' that are girls on fb have that too..I really do not get it
Woggle Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 What it means is that if you don't want to deal with a woman's constant drama and endless issues then you are not man enough to handle her. It is an excuse for the women who are emotional basket cases.
LucreziaBorgia Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I associate MM quotes now with people like Lindsay Blohan (who has one tattooed on herself). Definitely a red flag to me.
Stung Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I associate MM quotes now with people like Lindsay Blohan (who has one tattooed on herself). Definitely a red flag to me. Does she really? Ha ha ha. Is it the same quote discussed here? Maybe that's where all these girls got it from, and it's actually Lohan who's their role model. Reachin' for the sky.
rogersk1968 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 oh I know - it's ridiculous - my ex-friend (the one who's having an A with my H) quotes Marilyn all the time. She can only WISH that she looked like her. ugh
Feelin Frisky Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Yep, I would pass if I saw that line. It's about earning, not deserving.

It is an excuse for the women who are emotional basket cases. Yep. My mother put this on her FB not that long ago. That's pretty much what my thoughts were when I saw that. I for one don't consider a drug ****ed hussy to be a role model, sorry.
sanskrit Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Translated: "I am completely self-obsessed, must have my way at all times, and am extremely insecure. I make mistakes which are your fault. Your mistakes are also your fault. I am impulsive and have no self-control. I am all drama and high maintenance all the time. I look good, which is all I have going for me. That seems to be enough for the dozens of weak men who have bedded me, though, so take it or leave it."
