Ive noticed my friend in our social circle whos bascially the guy everyone in the group was first friends with from the beigning and we met each otehr through has a certain resepct and admriation from the females that the other Men dont

It helps that hes good looking and sucessful but its not just on a sexual levle its also a admiration thin that even the married women want to be liked by him

I dont know if you call that "alpha" power or just the fact that status is important to women but it is a interesting dynamic

Is it possible that he's just a quality individual and all around good guy? It may have nothing to do with alpha/beta/omega nonsense and more to do with good character and having one's sh*t together...

Never underestimate how status and popularity is always important to women on some level.

I dont know how many women ive been with who after all these years still talk about high school and the popular girls and jocks who the hated them but cant stop talking about them becasue they didnt like them and it hurt them.

If this guy mr popularity and set the group up as you say women still have that high school mindset and want to be liked by the jock or mr popular

It coudl also be a looks thing, friends wives hit on me,not to cheat but to see how a really good looking guy responds to them

I dont know if id say that,he can be a bit of a sarcastic jerk sometimes, cheated on his soon to be wife etc[not that the women know about the cheating]

I like him i wouldnt say hes mr integrity but women are drawn to him

Everyone - male and female, is drawn to respect and admire power.

I suspect it stems from ancient (read: pre-sapiens) cultures where it was reproductively and therefore evolutionarily advantageous to "follow the leader".

Those cultures that didn't respect power, be it physical, mental or something indefinable were more chaotic and died out.

You are describing "charisma," as opposed to some misplaced alpha/beta quality. An "alpha" in nature dominates physically, and a true human "alpha" would be a rapist or assaulter, someone who gets what they want by brute physical, animal strength entirely devoid of reason.
