Pfiend101 Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 What is it with people that flake out last minute. Do not hold to their word. Tell you they are interested in dating you and to call them. So you attempt to date them and they ignore you. I've been running into a lot of flakey people on online dating and in life in general lately. I'm beginning to regret breaking up with the girl I had been dating on OKC for four months. At least she wasn't flakey. Just a rant Where does flakeyness come from? It drives me insane.
USMCHokie Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 In my experience, flakiness generally reflects two things: (1) Lack of interest; and/or (2) Inconsiderate personality
Confusedalways Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I have been in contact with SO many flakey people in my life that I literally do not believe ANYONE when we set plans. I go into every plan thinking there's a 50/50 chance it will happen. It's very annoying, particularly in dating.

For the most part people are totally unreliable.

Serial flakiness is an indication you are doing something wrong with the whole setup. One of the most common reason is trying to move too fast. Another is a guy talking and saying too much before the date. Make the date then shut your mouth and do other stuff or people that doesn't involve your future date. Another is talking too much and trying to move too fast. Finally, talking too much or trying to move too fast is at the bottom of the list as well.
AverageJoe Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I have a zero tolerance policy for flakes. Zero. Dont put up with it.
Author Pfiend101 Posted September 19, 2010 Author Posted September 19, 2010 Indeed I agree about the lack of interest and personality. It just blows me away that someone will makeout with me and keep telling me be sure to call them to go on another date then when I attempt to get in touch with them they keep avoiding another date. My new rule is :Ignore me once and LAUNCH. Flake out once LAUNCH. I'd rather date no one then a flakey person.

Oh, that's not flaking to me. That's just outright lack of interest.
AverageJoe Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I always prefered kicking them through the uprights. Ah, to each their own.
Author Pfiend101 Posted September 19, 2010 Author Posted September 19, 2010 I enjoy all the responses. Call me crazy but people makeout with someone they aren't interested in? hahaha
Author Pfiend101 Posted September 19, 2010 Author Posted September 19, 2010 Also my new conclusion about online dating is that there are a large amount of people that just go on there to attempt to get penpals or "text" buddies and have no real intention to date anyone.
Star Gazer Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I enjoy all the responses. Call me crazy but people makeout with someone they aren't interested in? hahaha Sure do! Had she been drinking? Maybe she realized that you're not compatible, even though she's attracted? Maybe she met someone else she likes more? Or something progressed with someone else since that makeout?
shadowplay Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I enjoy all the responses. Call me crazy but people makeout with someone they aren't interested in? hahaha Yep. I just recently wrote a long, torturous thread about a guy I met online whom I seemed to have a great first date with that ended in a long, hot make out session...whose interest then nosedived post date. I've come to the conclusion that most people are fickle idiots.
USMCHokie Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Yes, which means... Say it with me, Hokie... LAUNCH! Darn, you beat me to it! LAUNCH!!!
