Girl I dated a long time back texted me this morning asking if I wanted to go speed dating tonight with her and a few girls. Can't say it's my thing and politely declined, but then I've never done it either (can't knock it till you try it so they say), she did text back and say there will be some real stunners at the event. Now I'm quite a fan of standard dating, having done a fair bit of it as I've always been one to get to know people properly when I'm dating. So have never ventured into the 3-5minute "ding, next" scenario. So yeah for those who have done it (or those with an opinion on it) your thoughts please on speed dating?
just_some_guy Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Haven't tried it, but it sounds like fun. It is said that you have about 90 seconds to make a first impression. If you can look put-together, well groomed, can speak well and look confident, then you may find some interesting possibilities for further explorations.
somedude81 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I tried it once, ended up getting no matches. Not surprisingly, it's a lot of work for the guys. Somehow you need to make a great impression on a girl in 3-5 minutes. The better looking guys have it much easier. The biggest issue is that, you will only get matched, if both of you said yes to each other. So a girl you didn't say yes to, might have said yes to you, but you will never know about it. The best way to go about it, is to just say yes to everybody.
