Sadcakesleo Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 hey everyone, it's been 9 months since my break up with someone I was with for 5 yrs. I was hurt but now I am pretty much over it. My problem is now I am ready for another relationship. I pretty much started putting myself out there for a month now. I've gotten quite a few numbers and been on some dates but they have led to nothing. I kind of just want to give up, I mean my confidence was building because of all the girls I have met but now it's low again because none of them materialized into anything. Am I trying to hard? I mean I can't expect to just find someone sitting at home but I feel like I get these girls numbers and dance with them and the days after I can't connect. Even online dating I have had a little success and it seems to be going great then it just stops. What am I doing wrong?

Where are the girls you're getting the numbers from? Do things seem to go well on the first date? How strongly do you pursue them with calling/texting after the first date?
Author Sadcakesleo Posted September 7, 2010 Author Posted September 7, 2010 sorry I was venting and didn't give a whole lot of specifics. Most girls I have been meeting has been at night clubs and online at ok cupid. The girls from the night clubs I would go up to them and start talking and dance and at the end of the night get there phone number. Mostly after when I text them a day or so after, we will have small talk and either me or her will just stop texting all together. Online dating has been a little more successful, I'm actually been on a few dates with girls from there. The last date seemed to go well I thought but when I followed up for a 2nd date she said she was busy this weekend. I said we should plan something soon and she said alright. I left here alone this weekend and texted her last night asking how her weekend was. No response and she always is quick to respond. The problem for me has been after getting a phone number it's like I don't know what to do with it. Like do I call the day after, text,wait a few days? Like I said it's been awhile since I was in the dating scene so any tips would be appreciated. It certainly feels like I'm trying to hard.I feel like if I don't try hard then nothing will happen.
