Lakeside_runner Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Haha - so it turned out to be a funny story... I get to the place I chose first and although they took my reservation in the morning they told me that they are having a private party so they are closed... Well so much for 'Cherrystones'. I called my date immediately and let her know that we probably should meet at 'Paradise' - the place she initially chose. I get there first and the place is... closed. I just waited for my date to arrive - we both had a good laugh about it. We ended up hanging out at some obscure fast food joint just talking (none of us had any desire for the food). We had a good conversation for about two hours... The fact that everything was closed makes it just funny...
bobdole Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Dates gone wrong such as yours - I find to be the best heh.
CLC2008 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 That's cute and very funny. I enjoy hearing stories like that.
Author Lakeside_runner Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 And....was there a spark? I think so . We talked for more than two hours, conversation was flowing, we both had a good laugh about some things, enjoy the same things. As we parted I asked her if she would like to go out again, she agreed, I told her that I am going to call her on Monday. When I got back home I texted her to make sure she got home safely, thanked for the nice evening and said that this time I'd like to take her on a real date - one where everything is open. She said that it sounds good. I guess - we'll take it from here
FL Lady Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 That's cool. Glad you guys had a good time and laughed it off. Thanks for the update.
Green Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Dude you should have kissed her if you wanted to create a spark. I hope you bched out that first resteraunt for not calling you back on your reservation and letting you drive out there. They really owe you a free dinner for two or something you should call them and ask for the manager and tell your story.

Author Lakeside_runner Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 @Green: It's our first meeting. It was meant just get to know each other and see if we want to go on a real date or not. Honestly, if I would go in for a kiss at the end it would be a little inappropriate. We had a good time - we want to go out again. As we parted, we hugged and I gave her a kiss on the cheek - that seemed to be more fitting. Yes - next time, if everything is a good as it was this time - then yeah, why not... @SadAndConfused: What did I do to deserve to be called a "nice guy" - this is as far as I recall the worst thing a guy can be called on this forum But seriously, thank you :)
Land Shark Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Dude you should have kissed her if you wanted to create a spark. Sadly, I agree. This is one of the dilemmas a guy faces: should I try to get her into bed, knowing that if I do I won't respect her? But if I don't she won't really respect me?
