ChicaMusica Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 I'm new here, so wassup? ^^ I just want to say that I would be totally willing to date, if my fellow high schoolers didn't make it seem so goddamn idiotic. Maybe it's because I've never dated (not that I've never had the opportunity to, I just didn't reciprocate) but I see 85% of these couples absolute idiots. First and foremost, they throw around the L word like nobody's buissness. They could've met a few days ago and they'd be "so in love" but a few days later break up. Also, they drop their friends completely or if they invite them, its just so they can make out while the others awkwardly try to ignore it. They also lose all personality. Every FB status is now about their BF/GF and I mean EVERY ONE. What happened at school. Who's he going to the park with later? How are her days going or her favorite song of the day? Who knows because "oh god i love herrr a&f babyyy" Now I'm not that lucky in the romance department, as there has never been a mutual reciprocation of feeling, but although I would like to find someone I like, I don't want to turn into a stereotypical teenage idiot. Now I'm not saying every teen is like this, but its enough to bring this into wallbanger territory.
bobdole Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Now I'm not saying every teen is like this, but its enough to bring this into wallbanger territory. I must be getting old. Whats "wallbanger territory". My advice - go ahead and be the typical teenage idiot in love. There's plenty of time to grow up later. Have fun!
Author ChicaMusica Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 I have no problems with love, but I absolutely hate when the word is thrown around when you can tell they just met and will break up a week later. I'm old fashioned and believe the word should be used only if you mean it, not because you're dating. My friend once dated 4 girls in one month, and all his statuses were "babyy i effin loovveee u a&f u are my life i cant breathe without your love mi amorrsito!" -___- Broke up 3 days later. And try looking up "wallbanger tv tropes" on google. That site is my addiction, and I tend to use terms from there a lot

You are growing up in a generation of kids who are extremely spoiled and selfish. Once someone stops making them "feel" a certain way they get rid of them. To heck with them and that childish mentality. Treat love like the prize that it is. Do not throw your heart away for just anyone, save it for the people with the character and integrity to guard it even better than you can. Don't look to your peers for guidance, find someone that actually has a working brain.
Author ChicaMusica Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 My friends keep saying that I desperately need a boyfriend, but even though I want one I don't want to fall into the teenage pitfall of ditching my friends, feeling emo without my boyffriend and such. Plus I can't find someone that isn't looking to get in my pants, or that I can have a normal conversation with that isn't shallow flirting. Plus I tend to shove any guy I like into the friend zone.
Woggle Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 It's good that you are disgusted by it. Keep that mentality and eventually you will be rewarded. It might be when you are a bit older but it will eventually pay off while others will deal with constant drama that has nothing to do with real love.
