Rorschach Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 So I was working last night (I work security at several places, last night was an airport), it was late and I was on patrol when a pretty 20 something walked by, smiled at me and said hello, so I smiled back and wished her a good night (she was leaving). About 30 seconds later I realized that it was more than just an innocent smile, something about the way she looked directly into my eyes, then gave a kinda coy smile. When I smiled back it was just a generic friendly security guard smile I give to everyone, and while it probably would have amounted to nothing anyway I could have at least tried to be a bit more flirtatious about it, wasn't expecting to get that look from any cute girls for another 20-30 pounds so it caught me off guard haha. Hopefully it wasn't all in my head. She was a red head too so double-shoot.
phineas Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 HA! I'll be out somewhere shopping or something & on the drive home it'll hit me. That chick was flirting with me & I missed it completly.
Star Gazer Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I smile and say hi to almost everyone I come across or make eye contact with, including security guards. Hmm. I wonder if they're assuming something... Maybe I should stop doing that.

Nah it's a good practice I have people smile at me all the time, this is the only time I've gotten that feeling that maybe there was more to this smile that just being friendly. But come on I don't need more self doubt here
Lost Fish Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 lol Star, your posts are so sarcastic. I'm the same way Phineas. It took me forever to finally go out with my college girlfriend. After a while she'd tease me about how clueless I was to her "flirting her ass off." It is a reflection of your own confidence, dude. You won't realize someone likes you if you don't feel like you are worth liking. So, essentially... USE YOUR CLAWS MAN! GET THE BUNNY!

I'm hoping she works somewhere in the airport, if I see her again I'd go ahead and try and talk to her. The worst that can happen is she would say no, but it would do me good just to try anyway. (truth be told if I did that would be the very first girl I've ever tried to get a date with, and I'm 22, is that sad?)
Lost Fish Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Nah, you're not sad. See - stop that type of thinking right now. It'll only hold you back. Carry some guts. No guts no glory. Be willing to fail gloriously and you'll be fine. The only way you'll get better at stuff like this is to keep trying. So if you don't find her in the airport, then on to the next!

I agree with you completely, I've been feeling better about myself lately, which I should! I mean come on I've lost 80 pounds here I should be out hunting for chicks but my brain is still trying to catch up with my body. Cest la vie. Now the hardest part though is finding the women-folk, I think the best way to get over my schism would be just to get out there and talk to some people but I have crap for free time.
