mustangsally Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 So here's my story: I joined a dating website and ended up talking with two guys. One of them I didn't find very physically attractive, but I decided to go out with him anyway just to see how things would go. We went out and had a nice time. I wasn't totally smitten, but I was amenable to a second date. Apparently, I made quite an impression on this guy: he's a smitten kitten. Not even 24 hours after the date I got a facebook friend request, two facebook messages, a text, a request to go out again, followed on twitter, tweeted at, followed on my blog, a reply to my blog comment and a reply to something else I posted on facebook. Oh...and an award on the website. He may just be really excited about the date and the prospect, but to me that was a bit too much. I like a guy to show he's interested, of course, but there's a fine line between just enough and WAY TOO MUCH. In between the date and now, I met this other guy on the site. It turns out, even though we're 3,000 miles away from where we grew up, we actually lived on the same street and my brother went to school with him. Based on that alone, I had to meet him. I've been talking to him on the phone and we ended up spending 3 hours talking and totally losing track of time. It was the longest conversation I've had with someone in a while and I really liked it. Right now, I'm getting pretty busy, so I don't have an infinite amount of time to be dating around and the first guy has sort of turned me off with his major enthusiasm. Do I tell him I'm not interested? Not say anything? Go out with him again and make a situation potentially uncomfortable?
2sure Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 First...although guy #1 is way too exuberant, be careful you dont write him off simply because you can have him. We women do that you know. Tell him you will not be free again for like 10 days or two weeks. See what his behavior is like...if he becomes whiny, needy , or stalkerish...bail. If he backs off a bit and is patient...go with him again and see what you think.
Cee Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Go out with guy #2 first before you make any decisions.
2sure Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Oh, definitely go out with guy #2 in the meantime. I mean, you're shopping right?
