I just told my mom about my breakup. I had actually stopped the tears for a few hours, but she broke the dam. She's so sweet and simple and what she said, though not always true, really touched my heart.

She said that we both needed to be more patient. "Don't you guys like each other? It's rare to find someone you click with." "Both of you should cool down and he will call you." "If you care about each other, you can make it work." "Don't be sad, keep your head up."

God. If things were only that simple. She's so cute. :(

But maybe there is truth in her words?

Mommy sounds like a good egg. :) I know with my last (hellish) breakup last winter, my Mom was incredible. Sometimes they really come through...

I think when a breakup occurs, holding on to the hope of a future is a nice thought and feeling to have. I think it helps with the process.

Anything is possible in life, PG. Should you live for it? No. Should you dream about it for now? Absolutely.

Have you met my friends Ben and Jerry yet, btw? ;)

You offered me Haagen Dazs. At least give the girl as much! :p

I offer you Godiva ice cream, PG. Here, take my spoon... really. :bunny:

Did I? ha ha!

I'm kinda fickle with my ice cream. Love is meant to all broken hearts just the same, however. :)

Everything but the bolded statement is true, PG. It's hard to find someone you click with. He will call you eventually. And keep your chin up. :)

Yeah, she is a good egg. :) She's so sweet and kind, and I know she is disappointed and sad for me.

I never thought about letting myself hope. I'm more of a: OK, imagine the worst scenario possible and get comfortable with it. haha. I think I'm coping with this quite well. I understand the situation. There is no one to blame. I am just going to accept it at some point. I think the only thing I have to get through is missing my best friend and not knowing what could have been if he never left...

I feel so slighted!

I know we will talk. We talked momentarily today over IM. He basically said: "This hurts too effing much to talk right now. We will talk, but I just need a couple of days." Then he said, "You know I love you."

Haha. The saying IS "chin up," but my mom is Asian and gets her sayings wrong all the time. :lmao:

I've heard "keep your chin up" before.
