elow_IN _LOve Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Hey all ive been dating a women for a fews weeks, we had 2 dates. We txt all day sometimes, It seems like were close. I just txted her that i gotta go or what not. She txted back "later dude". For some weird reason after those two words, i felt she was no longer interested. It just seems like dude means friend right? and the convo we just had was awesome. Im i being crazy?
Whitefox123 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I wouldn't worry too much about it honestly. I actually use the word "dude" all the time...so much that when my boyfriend and I started dating he called me out on it. It's probably just a habit of hers
CLC2008 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Yes, you are being silly. And, you could always reply back "okay chicky".
Feelin Frisky Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 More "text"-centric neurosis. People are not joined at the hip for a reason.
StalledGirl Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 You need to relax because there's nothing wrong with the word "dude" other than it being too American and teenagey. Better than calling you "douche" or worse!
Author elow_IN _LOve Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 More "text"-centric neurosis. People are not joined at the hip for a reason. Yeah whats up with Texting all day...1st text relationship i had, im not sure if im crazy about it. But i just keep texting her, and we have huge, deep, thoughtful convo. but is it real?
meerkat stew Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Stop texting her. Claim your text function on your phone is not working (not a lie because you aren't working it ). Save your communication with her for when you are with her in person.

Fridaylove Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 No worries, I use to call my ex-boyfriend dude all the time, lol. Plus you two are just starting out so you can't expect her to say "later sweetheart!"
meerkat stew Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Well talking with voice is fine too, when i cant see her. Nope, use the phone to call and ask her out only, not to chat, unless you want a friend and not a GF. Do these things, and she will never call you "dude" again unless she has a "Big Lebowski" kink in bed.

If one is locked in constant text dialog, he and/or she "spends" the reserve of niceties and anything which doesn' measure up becomes an emotional crisis propmting people to go to Love Shack to seek advice. Don't blow your wad of romantic mystique on the damn text device. One has to learn to contain him or her self in the times between real meetings.

Fridaylove Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 hmm, so she went from babe to dude, I don't know then. Maybe she's backing down a bit because things are going too fast for her, she could be confused about what kind of relationship you two might have or how you feel, etc.
