lilxcutie53 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Hey! So I've been trying to figure out if my boyfriend is passive aggressive or not. Here are some examples of what he does that makes me think this: So occasionally...when we are texting back and forth during the day, the texts will stop from him and so i just go on with my life and wait to hear from him the next day (were in a LDR right now) he will call and then ask why I didnt call him last night. and I'll just "oh, well I didnt hear back from you, so I was just like whatever" Is that passive aggressive? Or...one time...we had plans and I cancelled bc I wasnt feeling well..at the time I had a hard time being honest with him, so I dont think I made it clear as to why I was canceling just that I didnt want to hang out. I'm sure he took it as me cancelling on him. anyways the next day...he asked If I wanted to hang out and I told him I would and he did the same thing back to me, but I felt like I was being "punished" for cancelling (I had a legit reason tho. I wasnt feeling well) Is that Passive aggressive? Or whenever we are in an argument about something that he's done that bothers me..he'll turn it to me and avoid what the issue at hand is and will talk to me about what ive done that bothers him... Is that passive aggressive? since were in an LDR, we made plans for me to visit him this weekend at school, but the only way for me to go was if he was willing to pick me up at an airport that was 2hrs away from school (those were the cheapest tickets I could find) and he said that it would be too much driving for him,so he asked if I could fly into one closer, and I told him that I couldnt come if the plane tickets were going to be over $200. So then he said that he would chip in some for me if I flew into the closer airport...and I had told him that he didnt need to do that for me. and he insisted that he would. anyways, so I made the flights and then called to tell him and double checked again to see if he was still willing to chip in, and he said "i guess.." I dont know if that was him just being cheap or passive aggressive. I wouldnt have made the arrangements if he hadn't of offered. Im running on a tight budget. So if these are passive aggressive ways..how do I deal with them?
a_woman Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 he is immature and he is playing games. he isn't likely to grow out of them any time soon
New Again Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Hey! So I've been trying to figure out if my boyfriend is passive aggressive or not. Yes, YOU sound passive aggressive here. ...one time...we had plans and I cancelled bc I wasnt feeling well..at the time I had a hard time being honest with him, so I dont think I made it clear as to why I was canceling just that I didnt want to hang out. Maybe. whenever we are in an argument about something that he's done that bothers me..he'll turn it to me and avoid what the issue at hand is and will talk to me about what ive done that bothers him... Is that passive aggressive? It's not passive aggressive, but it is annoying. since were in an LDR, we made plans for me to visit him this weekend at school, but the only way for me to go was if he was willing to pick me up at an airport that was 2hrs away from school (those were the cheapest tickets I could find) and he said that it would be too much driving for him,so he asked if I could fly into one closer, and I told him that I couldnt come if the plane tickets were going to be over $200. I dont know if that was him just being cheap or passive aggressive. I wouldnt have made the arrangements if he hadn't of offered. Im running on a tight budget. Annoying, but not passive aggressive.
