isdn00789 Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I just need some general guidance as to what might be a good idea/bad idea. There is a girl I had two classes with last semester. We talked, but only in the classroom, or sometimes directly after class when we were both walking the same way. I couldn't decide if I was interested, but now I've decided I'd like to at least give things a try. We're friends on Facebook as a result of last semester, but I haven't talked to her at all in a few months. I made a post a few days ago asking whether or not it would be inappropriate of me to ask her if she was still in town via Facebook. The replies were in favor of doing so, but I haven't done it yet. Here why: I know that she did work at a restaurant here in town, and I was thinking it might be a better idea for me to try to catch her at work. The problem is, I don't know if she still works there now that she has graduated. I was going to go eat there tonight, but I felt weird going alone... is it weird to go to a sit down restaurant on your own? Would it be better for me to bring friends? So, should I: - Eat at the restaurant I know she worked at a few times until I either find out she still works there, or I'm convinced she no longer does (at which point I'd probably go ahead and ask her if she is still in town) OR - Send her a message on Facebook congratulating her on graduating, and asking if she is still in town/what she is up to. I realize that neither option may be all that good, and I'm not going to be too upset if it doesn't work out. I just thought I'd ask for some advice. Thanks in advance.

CLC2008 Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Just do it as in?... - Eat out alone and hope she is working OR - Send her a brief message? You could send her a message and then mention the restaurant, ask her if she still works there, and if she says yes, then you could say something like "cool, maybe I'll stop in and visit you sometime".
