So theres this girl im really into, ive known her for a few months now and have gotten to know her really well and built a good rapport with her. There are times when this girl really seems to be interested and other times when she seems disinterested. there was even a time she got drunk and started saying things like " I love hanging out with you cause youre such a sweet guy" and other things. we also tease each other quite a bit and say flirty things from time to time. now the thing about this girl is she's literally dated 1 guy her entire life who she was with for 4 years and was engaged to. one of the big reasons she hasnt dated any other guys is because shes had a lot of issues with men in her life betraying her like her ex fiance who ended up cheating on her and stealing $60,000 from her family. so she is very much on the defensive when it comes to men. At this point she has said that she trusts me and doesnt feel like id betray her.

Ive had a couple people tell me that i should just let it go at this point as not to make things awkward and **** up a possibly good friendship. but i can deal with awkward situations. what I cant deal with is living with the regret of knowing i let one of the most amazing girls ive ever met slip through my fingers. I really like this girl and I think its time to put it out there in the open and just confess my feelings to her. Ive never really gone about dating in this manner, its usually something where the girl is a bit more aggressive about getting me. So my question is, how do I go about telling this girl that I like her and it actually work in my favor. I know I need to put a good confident vibe out when I do confess and not seem nervous or awkward, but what should a really say to her? or how should I present the whole thing?
