alexlakeman Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Well, obviously guys screw up more, lol.. b/c as I hear guys respond to women's online profiles even if she writes one sentence, lol... Well, I love turning the tables as often as I can.. I had two dates this week with two online women I met. The third we've been talking, but she's got a kid and it seems difficult for her to get someone to take care of him, so I might launch her next week (btw, I just remembered I texted her an hour ago, and no response, so she might already be launched, lol). The first one I met, as I mentioned in another thread, was a freind's ex wife, so scratch that one off big time.. The second one, we met for about 10 minutes earlier this week b/c she was in my 'hood at the gym... My analysis of her (since recently I've seen women analyze a couple of online dates)...let me get opinions from both sides PLUS guys, they are as needy as us!!!!!!!!!!!... She looked like she had a tad higher mileage than i would like, seemed kinda wildish for just meeting for ten minutes. Hard to explain, but the top of her hands weren't as smooth as I would like, you know like a little bit of the veins (?) sticking out,,....is that what you call it?The face, was ummm, well, didn't look smooth, I saw some wrinkles.. she was at the gym, so obviously no make up, but I've woken up with more than enough women, to know they look 1/2 ass decent without makeup...Seems kinda clingy after just talking 3-4 days... for example:(crap, I deleted her text, so have to go from memory).. I had texted yesterday am, just some flirty ****.... but this am I didn't ... she called me last night, but I was at happy hour, so didn't respond and didn't return her call.. so this am I get a text something along the lines "what no call this am? and no answer last night? Guess I looked that bad without makeup" ..The icing on the cake? She let her son go live full time with the dad when he was 10 or 11.. and just sees him a couple times per week.. WTF?? what mother would do that? I got two boys, and I WISH my ex would let me just have my boys....so how can she give a sh.it..? I thought of just dumping her, but she likes me, I don't have another date for Friday happy hour.. so going out with her tomorrow night, dumping her saturday via text.. and I'll report back... see how the women like a taste of their own medicine... I guess the more you date, the more picky you get and the higher the standards... it's not just the great conversation, and chemistry that we have,it's physical, demographics (btw, she doesn't have an gradutate degree, not even an undergrad degree).. etc... SO guys...again, fine tune what is on your profile, and focus on what your write to the women...
AverageJoe Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Women do indeed screw up with online dating. Posting only head shots, or pictures of themselves with a guys arm around their neck, then he is somehow superimposed out of the pic. Yeah.

Not to be nitpicky, but this is mostly just compatibility, or perhaps how she screwed up dating (though it sounds more like she just isn't your cuppa), not really about her profile. Obviously, her profile got you there. The internet part she didn't screw up. I'm sure there are ways women screw up internet dating, though.
D-Lish Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 What age range are you dating in Alex? And geez, are guys actually going to look at the tops of my hands when they decide if they deem me a worthy partner or not?
Sabali Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 What age range are you dating in Alex? And geez, are guys actually going to look at the tops of my hands when they decide if they deem me a worthy partner or not? No, of course not. I wouldn't worry about that D-Lish. They will actually be looking at something else when deeming you a worthy partner.

She can't do anything about her age. It sounds like she basically looked like her photo, so while it is fine to not want to see her again, it doesn't sound like she screwed up. I thought of just dumping her, but she likes me, I don't have another date for Friday happy hour.. so going out with her tomorrow night, dumping her saturday via text.. and I'll report back... see how the women like a taste of their own medicine... Wow, you are a terrible, manipulative person. Sounds like she is too good for you even with her veiny hands and clingy ways.
jadedone Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I've seen a handful that are obviously lying about their age. Like 10 years younger lying.
zengirl Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I've seen a handful that are obviously lying about their age. Like 10 years younger lying. Why do people do this? Isn't it going to come out if you actually meet anyone you like!?!? So silly. Even if I really liked someone, if I found out they flat-out lied about something (I'm not saying everyone has to disclose every aspect of their lives), that'd be the end of that.

And geez, are guys actually going to look at the tops of my hands when they decide if they deem me a worthy partner or not? She says she is 37 .. I am 41... yeah, I like a woman with nice manicure, smooth skin.. etc.. omg, I have a collegue at work who's skin is perfect, not one little vein and she's in the high 30's... that's how I like em.. I mean, women should take care of their skin, etc...
Author alexlakeman Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 I guess so women see their our perspective... ahh, I'll just start a new thread too much info on here, lol
meerkat stew Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 True age shows first in the hands IME, neither here nor there just saying. OP, you must be a good looking guy with excellent phone skills. That could explain the insecurity they are displaying. Another possibility is something in your demeanor towards them is cueing them when you see features you don't like. Otherwise you are just having a string of less secure women.
jadedone Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 True age shows first in the hands IME, neither here nor there just saying. You might be onto something. My face and body look about 10 years younger than my actual age(35), but the backs of my hands look like elderly people hands.
Pink Cupcakes Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I think it is kind of judgmental to think negatively right off about that the father has custody of the boys. Twice a week is a lot more than a lot of noncustodial parents have, or are able to have, with their kids. Did she explain the whole story as to why the dad had custody? Answer might be something which doesn't convict her at all. Custodial arrangments can be complicated and you might not know the whole story. I know a guy who has custody because his ex-wife went back to college. He had a job transfer, but took his son with him, and both decided it was best for the child because the child's mother would be able to spend less time with him while she made a better life by going back to college.

The same reason people lie on resumes, they are just trying to get the interview. And people online are just trying to make it to the date and hopefully something good happens.

Another possibility is something in your demeanor towards them is cueing them when you see features you don't like. Otherwise you are just having a string of less secure women. The hands and the face (little wrinkles around the eyes and the skin just looks "aged" are very important.. It could be something as simple as she didn't take enough care of her skin throughout her life vs the woman who does take care of her face/skin religiously... We've all seen it (and in men too), you see one person 30 and the look older, and you see another also 30 and they look younger.. I sincerely don't feel I put any pressure in the convo on the phone or when I see them (the one last night, told mid way through the date something like she was nervous when she met me...I've heard that b4, but usually it's the other way around)... I am confident in certain scenarios with women and not confident in other scenarios, lol... so I make sure we're playing on my field, where I'm comfortable, I guess, lol I think it is kind of judgmental to think negatively right off about that the father has custody of the boys. Yes, she said she felt like the child would have more fun living with the dad b/c the dad would take him fishing, travel, etc... I call that BS, I am a single dad, and they go back and fourth between mom's place and mines... UNLESS you are a mom or dad, you have no idea what it would mean to just give up your kids to the other parent... If told me that to make it sound like she had alot of available time for dating, she failed.. She said she does see her kid, etc... but there has to be more to the story, I don't buy it, as a single MALE parent...
