dallastiger Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Okay, so earlier this year myself and this girl, began doing things together such as formals and date parties. It began as just a fun thing but it quickly grew into much more. Then summer came around and I had to go out of town for the whole summer so I thought the relationship was over. However, we continued talking and texting throughout the summer. Finally, she confronted me about the dating issue and i said i didn't want anything serious. She was upset but I had been in a horrible relationship prior to this so I was protecting myself. She told me there was another guy trying to date her and she couldn't wait around. Eventually she buckled and began dating this guy. By this time I had realized she was who I wanted. I am very against relationships and dating in general but this hit me and I realized she was what I wanted. When I moved back she was drunk one night and told me a bunch of stuff including "I mean the world to her", "She wants me more than this guy. no doubt" etc. I admitted to her that I did want something with her once she was sober, and she doesn't want to come off as a bitch and dump this guy after they have only been dating for a little while. It is very complicated and honestly she is all I want. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Allisha Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 ... Sorry, but I fail to see the anything complicated about this? I've just woken up, so forgive me if I've misread this, but she told you she doesn't want to be a bitch by dumping this other guy so quickly? This is her polite way of telling you she'd rather date this other guy. To me, you ruined your chances when you upset her by telling her you wanted nothing serious. She also told ya she couldn't wait around. And she hasn't. And you've missed your chance, I think. Try talking to her once more and tell her how you feel. I don't think it will work, but you never know. Good luck!
Author dallastiger Posted August 16, 2010 Author Posted August 16, 2010 I kind of agree, but you think because of my little reluctance of committing she has ruled me out for good and wants to settle for her second option? I don't know that doesn't make sense because obviously something is still there.
frenchgirl Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I would make sure she has fun with you (date or sex) and then pop the ultimatum. Be sincere and hope for the best.

Soo have her cheat/lie to her current boyfriend and whisk her away? Great way to find a great catch! (sarcasm) She doesn't want to be a bitch by dumping him when they've been together so short? I'd say sooner is much better than later in that situation. Talk to her once more, lay out what you want, and if she doesn't want to dump her current, then gtfo and stop playing with fire. She's playing with fire at the same time mind you, but that doesn't give you a free pass to be messing with her current relationship.
