I had the first date at a coffee shop with a man, 37 from online.

He has sent me mixed signals which I can not understand.

On the one hand, he wanted to end the date early before I was ready for that. He did not explain the reason. So, I was sure that it was a clear sign of polite rejection. In fact, I was not really at my best with my communication skills. So, I said a few things that he might interpret that I was not really into him. Also, I did not feel good chemistry looking into his eyes and I sensed that he was kind of distant. So, I was sure that it was a rejection.

On the other hand, next day, he emailed me that he enjoyed the meeting and he wanted to do dinner next time.

That is why I can not understand what he wants. Does he want to stop it or to continue it?

As for me, I am fine with both outcomes because I am just dating casually.

Do you like the guy? If so, nothing wrong with going to see him again. On the second get together, see how he behaves. Then you can have a more clear picture of him.

Men, do you have any ideas about why a man would end the first date early?

The date was about 1 hr but I was not ready to end it.

What could it mean?

So many reasons he could have ended the date early, I cannot give you answer. Anything from not liking you to his mother went to the hospital.

Oh wait, you got an email from him saying he had a good time, so you now know he somewhat likes you.

I think you're just worrying over nothing.

I'm going to give you a serious answer.

It could be something like a digestive upset, constipation, or diarrhea. That is something he can NEVER tell you about for obvious reasons but would force him to want to get home quickly.

Let's say a woman really likes a guy, is out on a date, but is starting to have really bad cramps because "it's her time." Or she's having a particularly heavy flow that day. Is she ever going to tell the guy why she needs the date to end early? Doubtful.

He likes you and wants to see you again.
