Questionable1 Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Is it ever appropriate for a woman to send a first text message after a date? From my experience talking to my friends, a girl should send a message later that night or in the morning reaffirming that they enjoyed spending time together and let the guy decide what to do with that.
JohnM Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Why would you deem it inappropriate? If you were a guy this wouldn't even come up as a concern so why should it matter if you are female. Equality and all that. Just send him a text if you want to, don't buy into the playing games rules already.
Engadget Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 If a girl texted me right after a date id know for sure she enjoyed it and wanted to see me again.
jadedone Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 send the text! Good texts to send: "I had a great time, thank you" or "I had fun, maybe do again sometime" Bad texts to send "What did you think of me?" "did you enjoy the date?"
zengirl Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 I don't see why it's inappropriate. If a fellow likes you, I can't imagine him going, "Wow, she was really super great, but then she sent me this text saying she had a good time, so I thought, 'What a loser!'" If he does. . . then, he's an idiot.
Raderick Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 send the text! Good texts to send: "I had a great time, thank you" or "I had fun, maybe do again sometime" Bad texts to send "What did you think of me?" "did you enjoy the date?" This. It always leads to a response whether good or bad. This is your indicator on if you need to set that 2nd date in stone.

Engadget Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 i got that but it didnt lead the 2nd date. Gotta use it as an opportunity. "So when are we going out again?", just jump on it.
Dblock10 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Gotta use it as an opportunity. "So when are we going out again?", just jump on it. i did next day. but i figured out she liked some other guy so declined me softly by not getting back to me

On to the next one! Rejection sucks but if you can allow it to roll right off you and move past, things are much easier.

I like getting those texts right after a first date. Especially when you can see the light of their cell phone come up as they are driving away and you know they are using it, then 3 seconds later you get a text from them saying they had fun, or that they want to kiss me again. It's flat out adorable. Ladies, do it more. It strokes our ego, and we like to be stroked.
