Anyone else have an outfit or even single item of clothing that makes the opposite sex suddenly pay a lot more attention to you when you wear it?

This has always been a bit of a mystery to me. It's not necessarily the most revealing clothes. I have a black t-shirt, and the only thing sexy about it is it's a tad tight and has a very small amount of cleavage. I wore it today for the first time in a year and suddenly men were staring me up and down left and right. I don't get it. And some times it works with other things like hair. My hair might look nicer than usual on a particular day and suddenly I get about 10 times more attention. It just doesn't seem like attractiveness should be that variable and reliant on clothing/hair, and especially one particular item of clothing or hairstyle.

Anyone else experience this?

I don't really wear revealing clothes. I wear clothes that show off my figure, but not that show much cleavage, skin, etc. It's mainly about tailoring and fit for me. Occasionally, I'll show a fair amount of leg, but everybody wears mini skirts in Korea (shoulders are obscene, but a mini that barely covers your bottom is not. . . I don't understand it). And mine are much less short than half the gals. And I tend to pair them with leggings/stockings/hosiery of some kind.

But a lot of fellows seem to like the way I dress and even, in a clumsy straight male way, actively compliment it. It's certainly noticed. I tend to mix in a fair amount of bright colors, but that's just for fun. If I wear just jeans and a sweatshirt, I expect to get much less attention (from men and women) than if I throw on an outfit that actually shows off my figure, is interesting, and looks cute. Skinny jeans are likely to get more attention than my regular/bootcut Old Navy pair that's mostly for running around.

Hair is a big one for most guys I've ever talked to. Sexy hair is. . . well, sexy.

When I wear heels (rare), people notice. But it's usually to an uncomfortable degree. That seems to be what sends me over the top and into too much attention territory.

My legs are one (two) of my best features, so for me, wearing a dress (even with the slightest bit of attention to hair and makeup) usually draws the most attention.

I think it's time for a guy view. Well first, of course all of our tastes differ. But I say you need to show some skin or accentuate your figure in some manner. Of course you know baggy stuff won't do.

Me and a lot of guys like those cut off jean shorts that go halfway up the thigh for the summer time, (that a lot of women wear).

Like these, and similar ones.

Mini skirts are also a plus.

Basically, just be a tease with class. This gets guys hot and bothered the most. Because (being honest here) I'm going to focus my attention first on the woman with the shorts and nice fitting shirts, than the lady with jeans and a long sleeve shirt.

With all due respect, when trying to really make a guy turn his head, I'd save the conservative wear for another day. I think you know where the line is. Highlight everything- From your chest to your ass. These are the women who turn our heads. Be bold, we'll notice.

This doesn't happen very often but when I wear a suit, or tux the ladies be looking my way.

I honestly feel like I get the most attention when I'm dressed "classy", for example, a form fitting, but not revealing, dress; or work clothes consisting of a pencil skirt and dress shirt. It's less obscene attention too, for example, someone on the street might say, "you look gorgeous today," as opposed to cat-calling.

Yeah! One day this summer I was wearing a nice outfit that got me that sort of attention. It wasn't dressy or formal, but it was the perfect mixture of sexy and conservative. Tight, pretty top that didn't reveal much skin, and form fitting jeans, nicely done hair. As I was walking past a car stopped at a red light the guy in it called out: "You look amazing." This compliment felt good, unlike being catcalled.

Sure, a full money clip.

I have a sweaterdress that is modest as far as showing skin--it's long-sleeved, with a big cowl neck, and is not very short. But it's made of a really soft, touchable fabric, is super-clingy and has a waist belt. It makes me look deliciously curvy all over. I always have guys staring at me when I wear it.

I have this solid red t-shirt that fits well. I wore it with dark grey jeans one night downtown. A girl came up to me from out of nowhere while I was standing outside a bar and literally began feeling me up. We dated for about a month.

The funny thing was that before I went out that night, my roommate said to me, "so you're wearing the bright red shirt, huh..." Who woulda thought...

I've got a few. Usually my best ones show off the collarbone, are tight enough to show off the figure but certainly not spandex-tight, or best yet, my legs. I'm 5'10, so thankfully I have very eyecatching legs to make up for average cleavage. :)

As far as the not so obvious pickup clothes go, I have this turquoise green cowl neck sweater from H&M that I love!

Why do people underestimate the power of the ass?

Yes to legs! And 5 10' is the perfect height for me. I find women closer to my height are easier to grab around the waist.

After being with my ex, I most certainly DO NOT! I make sure to never leave the house without some form fitting bottoms!!!:laugh:

Especially legs complete with a killer set of heels, now that right there is fashion saying a woman can be feminine and powerful.

LOVE it! :D

I have a pair of jeans that just looks great on me, I feel awesome when I wear them, guys don't seem to mind.

I'm chesty, so any top that is a little form fitting and a little low cut (not way low because with lots of chest you canm't get away with it) seems to go over well.

Although, I think I get the most opposite sex attention when I'm comfortable in my own skin, dressed well but not over the top, and having a good time.

On a guy, for some reason I like nice jeans and either a button down shirt or a nice tee. I also love a man in a really nice, well fitting, well made suit.

LOL. I wonder if women are just as notorious for staring at a man's ass as we are as far as staring at woman's.

If I hear one more woman talk about how the cleavage is so important to highlight, I'm gonna go crazy. They have to get with the times.

Women still stare at a guy's ass, but we do it in a way that is slightly more coy and subtle. :)

So is it safe to say that I can simply assume that every woman I see is "subtly" staring at my ass, so that I can giggle to myself with delight...?

Just kidding.

I figured this was the case, as I assume women do everything in this manner lol.

USMC, Nate - Giggle all you want to! Yes, women do tend to be a bit more about subtlety! :p

If anyone has ever seen Lisa Edelstein play with Hugh Laurie on 'House', that's a perfect example of taking understated and cranking it up to blow one's hair back like in that old Cerwin Vega ad. The costumers on that show do something with her business attire that causes me to want to drag her back to my cave. No explanation. She's an otherwise attractive lady but not my physical type. Clothes do the trick. My mom was a clothier before being a SAHM so I kinda grew up with it. She and dad were always 'dressed up'.

In this image, notice the gather of the top, constrained by the buttons at the collar, barely containing the classic torpedoed breasts (pure vintage) with just the slightest hint of the support underneath showing through. For all intents and purposes, prim and proper but, gathered with a matching belt and spilling into a taylored pencil skirt with appropriate stockings and spectators, this is an outfit guaranteed to turn heads. Never mind who it is (was). The clothes create the mood and grab the attention.

I love to dress. I think I've gotten the most attention when wearing this navy blue lightly pin striped Pierre Cardin doulble breasted suit with pleated trousers and cuffs. I'd wear a two-toned pink buttoned-down shirt with white collar and a complomentary Fendi tie that sizzled. Maroon Italian shoes and maroon belt. No women whistled but I got double takes, called hunk, got smiles, got asked for a lot of directions by young ladies who probably didn't need them, I overheard a comment from one woman on the NYC subway to another in which she said "now THAT's the way a man should look". What an ego boost to hear that.
