ConfusedPuppy Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 OK. (backstory: http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t239674/) So we went for coffee. I asked him, but he obviously...wanted to come because he did...and it was lovely. We have such an easy time hanging out and talking. SO much in common. We talked some 'serious' stuff, not about us but about our pasts...He admitted being quite scarred by his past experience and scared of relationships...after he dropped me home I text him to say I had a nice time and should do it again, but that I understood he wasn't 'looking' for anything. He responded by saying that I was really cool and he'd like to stay in touch but that we should keep it platonic. Is that the end? He claims to have a number of platonic female friends, so that doesn't really make me feel very special! Guessing thats his way of saying he's not interested?
carhill Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Well, if you were to say that to a man, what would the impetus for it be? I can almost guarantee you that, if you were to get a boyfriend, he'd disappear. He's not interested in having 'platonic' female friends; he's interested in having orbiters. He sets up the deal with the rocketship connection, then the penis in vagina, then the fade out to 'platonic'. Classic. A friend's brother, eh? Hmm....
Author ConfusedPuppy Posted August 1, 2010 Author Posted August 1, 2010 Good point. That's the end then. Ah well.
xpaperxcutx Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Kick him to the curb. Who wants to have a platonic guy friend? Unless he's gay, of course....
TuesGirl Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 i give the guy kudos for being as forthright as saying, "platonic". He knows by saying that, he has cut out any future confusion about what your relationship with him 'may' be, and hence 'may' end up back in bed together. So he saved you a lot of time wondering what the hell was up
TouchedByViolet Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 He sets up the deal with the rocketship connection, then the penis in vagina, then the fade out to 'platonic'. Classic. hahaha, spot on and very funny
Author ConfusedPuppy Posted August 1, 2010 Author Posted August 1, 2010 Yep. Definitely credit given for being straight. I would've done/said exactly the same thing. Which only makes me like him more. Ffffffffff. Disappointment. Really thought I'd met a good one this time.

That seems very viable....but I don't think he's the 'player' type generally...But yeah. Thats probably it. Guys and their goddamn penises!
Author ConfusedPuppy Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 HRM. Actually, I think he still likes me or is still in the process of thinking about it. I think he just wanted to make it was super slow and there were no assumptions made. We still have good dialogue. Funny etc. He hasn't 'faded out' completely.
