Ok so I am moving to a new city .So I am entertaining the idea of meeting new people . I decided to join okcupid . So I am fulling out my profile and I am at a complete lost .

Body Type -- ??

I really don't know what to put . I am in no way ashamed of my size but I don't like when people stretch the truth. So I rather not . I am about 5'9 and weigh around 190. In the last year I have lost about 85 pounds and feel great. I wear a size 12 . But with today's vanity sizing ... Who knows.

Last year I will have had no problem putting obese as my body type .. since it will have been a correct representation. But I have worked my ass off to lose this weight and will continue to lose.

But to the point ... these are the options on the site

Rather not say

Thin

Overweight

Skinny

Average

Fit

Athletic

Jacked

Curvy

A little extra

Full figured

Used up

Everything in italics .. just don't seem right . So I am left with Overweight and Full figured. Now can someone please tell me which one is bigger . My BMI is overweight but by the looks of it over weight is the biggest one on the list . So what do I put?

You put whichever answer will get you the best results.

Or the body type you're going to be, since you're working your ass off you'll be there in no time!

Thanks for the reply ... I really hope that second comment wasn't sarcasm -_-

Why have you ruled out curvy? I would say a size 12 fits that pretty well, and will probably get you good results. Curvy is a compliment, many people would regard that as the best on the entire list!

Don't worry too much about BMI... only people who've dieted know what that means... 90% of people wouldn't have a clue whether 28.1 is good or bad ;)

Thanks for the reply . I guess I am kind of in the whole " I can't be seen as anything besides obese " point of my journey. lol I once mentioned my BMI to a group of friends and no one even knew what I was talking about lol

You should be proud of your achievement, well done! It's one of the hardest things to do and the most beneficial in every aspect of your life. Be confident and take pride. You can now start looking for the BEST option on the list rather than the least bad. You should definitely put curvy... and if I were searching that site I'd put curvy as my preferred type. So you'd be right at the top on my search :D

Perhaps you can post a link to a celeb (or anyone) that most closely resembles your body type?

I'm not sure how helpful this will be but I have the same problem. I have my profile on match.com now and their choices are similar.

I am 5'6" and weigh 188. I am between a size 12 and a 14. I can definitely pull off a 12 but I hate tight pants so often go with a 14. I'm big busted. My friends tell me I carry my weight very well, and I'm trying to lose weight also.

So at first I put 'few extra pounds'. I met up with 2 guys from the site and when I asked them honestly they both said to me 'oh no, you're curvy'. So I changed it to curvy.

One guy said 'at worse you are curvy, you have a nice physique'.

I (like you, maybe?) am afraid I will misrepresent my body type, cuz I would rather be honest.

I say curvy!! Also find a tactful way of including a body shot maybe?? Good luck!

Anyone searching by body type (not sure if that's an option but probably is) will likely exclude both of the terms you've chosen, and I can't even tell you which one sounds bigger, honestly -- "full figured" makes me think of a manly linebacker lady, which almost seems worse than "overweight," but that might just be the way I hear it -- so I don't think it'll matter, assuming you're putting up pics for those who aren't excluding via search.

I always just clip "Thin" anywhere so I'd never even looked at some of these man. What they heck is Jacked? or Used Up? And what is the difference between Athletic and Fit? I am so confused.

I think you could put in Curvy. Honestly, the Curvy girls who list it are all about your size. The girls who are smaller and Curvy put in "Average" or something it seems like. Have you checked out the profiles of other women in your area? I always do that. (Mostly because I use it when I move, so I've found a few friends there, too, but also it gives me an overview of the town.) It's all so subjective.

I kind of wish we just punched in height and weight/height and dress size.

Who cares what other women are putting on their profile.

You only care about you, right?

Most men will agree that curvy is good. Why do you think they sing about coke bottle figures all the time?

Good luck to you.

I'd say put "curvy", which it sounds like you are, and, if you're concerned about honesty still, just put up a full-bodied picture. That's pretty much as honest as you can get, right?

Congratulations on losing the weight and keep up the good work! Becoming healthy is the best thing you could do for yourself.

The pic of the celeb looks curvy, so even if you're a little bustier, curvy seems appropriate to describe yourself.

One thing you don't want to do is misrepresent yourself- there is nothing more annoying than meeting someone and realizing the pictures are from 10 years ago and the person looks completely different! That happens a lot.

"curvy" or "generous curves" – to me, that doesn't mean fat, but nicely endowed and not a damn stick-figure!

curves rule, baby!

Curvy = Busty with a waistline and large hips.

Full Figured = Busty with big hips, thick around the middle

Overweight = 35+% bodyfat

It sounds like your Curvy.
