She doesn't have to be recognized as gorgeous or anything, but above average. This seems to happen to me twice a year and it's hard. Usually it starts by someone talking about how so and so is cute and then mentioning her a few times a week. Or I have some really good conversation with the girl. What the heck? I'm 20. This stuff should have stopped at like 14. The thing is once I finally break free of the obsession I'll look at the girl and just think "meh she's OK but I certainly wouldn't look twice or want to be anything more than friends." Another thing is that while I'm interested, all I want to do is kiss her. There is pretty much no desire to have sex. That is pretty much reserved for raunchier chicks and one night stands. I guess it stems from the fact that I believe whoever it is to be too innocent. All of this seems pretty screwed up and I would at least like to know that I'm not alone, but some suggestions for dealing with this problem would be great.
