Took my Response sport for a spin, but the rain was to cold.. I'm going to wait until end of the week and do 10 miles as the weather will be mild.

So far I have lost two pounds...eating good and doing at least a little exercise does wonders. My goal is 170 I'm 182 now.

I shampooed a carpet for two hours. I just got back my 10 minute solution fat blasting dance mix dvd that I lent my friend and its my favorite video to work out too. Its a fat burning party!!

last night I did kickboxing and capoeira.

Love love the capoeira. I thought after training in kickboxing and crossfit, I will be fit enough to do most of the moves in capoeira, big mistake.

The other women in the class, they are so fit, graceful, fluid, they are just so beautiful to look at. It humbles me, I can't do a quarter of the things that they do.

I've been practicing this morning and then when I realized that I could do headstand by myself now. So this is a good news certainly and I'm going to add capoeira into my routines.

Today, I did crossfit. 68 deadlifts of my body weight + 13 climbing robes in 20 mins, in addition to warm ups and strength. I also did Jillian's no more trouble zones.

Hope everyone has a great workout this week!

I had an awesome workout yesterday- 35mins intense cardio then 35mins of resistance workout consisting of active lunges, medicine ball work, pushups and some plyometrics.

It made me feel fantastic despite the scales saying I had gained 3lb overnight!!

Can't understand it have been so good this week. I am definitely losing inches and toning up though so mustn't get too discouraged.

H is making me a step so I can do stepup/downs in between sets of resistance work at home. I download workouts from Womens Health Magazine website, they have some really good challenging workouts that you don't always need equipment for, which is great for doing stuff at home when I can't get to the gym (and when my baby is asleep!)

Forget the scale. I gained 3 lbs last week and then lost 5 lbs this week. Simply, because I got my time of the month. All the water bloating and all that....I didn't eat enough last week (not by design though), it's because I burned over 1000 cals a day with my exercises but I struggled to put 2000 cals a day (I just got too full). I put back all the carbs into my diet because I really need the energy and need to ensure that my body has enough to recover.

I am getting smaller though and I look good in clothes (or without clothes :D). So mirror is really my best friend (and my skinny jeans). Keep doing what you are doing and as long as you look more beautiful and more toned by the day, that's what counts!

I've been doing P90X this week, and I've been disappointed in the workouts. I thought they'd be a hell of a lot tougher than they are.

I think I might have to go back to my bootcamp class... but I really HATE army crawls, particularly in this weather. The mud, the mud! :(

yeah, P90X doesn't do anything for me either (after all the hype, I was disappointed). Instead of bootcamp, why not joining crossfit? crossfit definitely changes my fitness. I become very flexible & strong because of it (and every workout feels like a bootcamp anyways :)).

Ya know, I really thought about doing Crossfit - some friends of mine say it works wonders. But it wouldn't work for me strictly because of my crazy work schedule - I'd miss class/sessions ALL THE TIME (at least based on the schedules of the Crossfits near me). I need something I can do on my own, and fit it into the day whenever I can.

*sigh*

But really, I used to kick my own arse in the gym with weight training... I'm totally capable of shredding on my own. I was such a little gym rat. I've just been trying to do more home-based stuff for convenience. We made a workout room, and we're surrounded by some amazing running trails... I figured I'd have no problem. But I'm still uninspired.

I dunno what to do...

You have to get in the habit of working out/going to a gym everyday. I'm not a real big fan of "at home exercise" because I always get distracted and want to stop. Plus being at a gym where other people are working out is more motivating for me.

I think that once you develop a routine in which you work out everyday it makes it easier to go back the next. It seems that when I will skip a day or two I have less motivation to go back the next day.

yeah second this. When I did the 100 burpees challenge at home, I did like 16 and then decided I was too tired lol! But at my gym with everyone else huffing & puffing, I could get it done in 9 mins, granted the last 30 were sloppy, everything touched the floor and kind of feeling like passed out at some point lol.

I find it hard to get motivated to work out at home too, but sometimes thats my only option because I can't always take wonderbaby to the gym!

And if I do it when she sleeps I have to make the most of it before she wakes up!

going to go work out today.. going to try the same gym but at a different location..

I woke up at 12pm, had a break fast and sit all the time on arm chair. Whole day in vain, but this was sunday...lol:)

maybe I'm missing something but what does creative activities over internet have bearing over exercises? did you guys do group activities online or something? that will be cool.

As for me, I did a complete rest Saturday & Sunday. On Friday night, I went to Black Eyed Peas concert and I was jumping the whole time so I think this has to amount to some kind of cardio exerices somehow :D.

Today, I finished 60 mins kickboxing. Killer killer workout, we did a lot of burnouts & round kicks today as well as burpees + abs works. Tonight, I will do Capoeira :). Feeling good now.

Hope everyone has a strong workout today!

Haven't gone yet, but will after work.

30-40 minutes on the elliptical at 200 watts continuous output. Hopefully I'll get to finish reading the rest of my novel too. Machine says this is about 420 calories worth.

10 minutes stretching.

200 crunches.

30-40 minutes of weightlifting (lower body tonight).

10 minutes stretching.

Either a dip in the hot jacuzzi or the dry sauna, shower and go home.

My every other day routine. Seems to be working. Waiting for the weather to warm up and I'm going to take up swimming. The hardcore at my club swim all year in the heated pool, but dang, I just can't convince myself to get near the water when it is cold and rainy out!

Great workout. I am looking forward to swimming too, it's been cold out here in west coast :(. My routine is Monday - Friday, 2 day rest on the weekend.

Yesterday, I did Krav Maga Sparring & Crossfit. Today, I am doing Kickboxing and I will practice some Capoeira moves on my own for 15 - 20 mins.

I did the P90X shoulders and arms workout yesterday, with an additional 30 minutes of cardio thrown in... and today, my triceps are SORE. A good sore. Maybe it's working after all?! :bunny:

I did not work out today yet, but I'm about to go in about an hour. I started doing a new elyptical machine which you have to move your legs upward. I loved it!! I was sweating like crazy! I did cut back my run by about 8 minutes or else I wouldn't have the energy to do the elyptical. My body is so used to running that I think I need to mix it up a tad.

Oh, I bought bottled water and am squirting lime juice in it. It actually HELPED my workout yesterday as I think I wasn't as dehydrated from all the diet coke. I felt like I had more energy!!

By the way: What is Crossfit? Is it a class? My gym doesn't have it.

By the way: What is Crossfit? Is it a class? My gym doesn't have it.

LB, crossfit is not a class. It's a fitness program that combines 10 elements of fitness (typically high intensity): speed, power, flexibility, strength, stamina, endurance, accuracy, agility, balance, cardio, and coordination.

It's done in a group settings and it includes some difficult movements (i.e: I joined an on ramp program for 2 months before I could take regular crossfit session - this is to ensure that I got the techniques correct before I did it intensely with others).

Typical workouts include:

- Olympic weightlifting (split jerks, shoulder press, deadlift, etc)

- Pull-Ups (typically they do Kipping pull ups instead of regular)

- Variation of push-ups including handstand push-ups (it took me 3 months to be able to do handstand push-ups)

- Wallballs

- Kettlebells

- Box Jumps

- Hip Extension

- Robe climbing (very difficult! at lest to me)

- etc...

As some said, this is not for everyone I think. If you have bad knees, this will be harsh on the body because we do high reps & heavy weights. There are times when you feel like your body just got ran over by a truck (as some said here).

Here is my fave video of crossfit. My aspiration is to be fit (but in the process, I get well proportioned body too, not too buff even though I lift heavy these days). It's a great conditioning program for me, my body transforms. I feel like I can tackle a lot of things these days.

Ding ding ding! It's all about muscle confusion, LB. Makes the body work harder, and become more efficient (i.e., more FIT! :) ).

Good job on the water too! (I say this as I drink a diet Mountain Dew! :p)

it's an everyday affair for me... not in some obsessive overtraining way, but seriously, if you cant find 30 minutes to an hour to do what your body is built to do, then you should really re-evaluate your priorities.

Early morning jogging... beautiful city park with this placid lake right in the middle of it... 3 times around is about 6km

usually go to the gym right after work and do intense weight training (take my bag with me to work, as if I stop off home, changed clothes and grab the bag, most likely getting distracted is very easy, etc. and its harder for me to go).

no particular days or order:

biceps-back

legs-shoulders

chest-triceps

leg lifts, leg raises, curled crunches, back raises and lat extentions I split and alternate each day

then after the gym work out... I will either go jogging again for about 30 minutes or hit an elliptical machine for 30.

my goal isnt to be a big fat bouncer type guy with hot dog rolls in the back of the neck, but a lean, defined, flexible, quick guy... think olympic swimmer.

watching what I eat and getting good sleep play a huge important role as well.

Day off exercise today, going for an early morning trail run through a forest tomorrow, about 10ks.

Should be interesting, my first trail run as I usually am on the roads.

You seem to have a very good routine!

Today I did crossfit. I did dealifht for strength (using 5 - 3 -1 formula) and the workout for the day is pull ups & wallballs (12#) for time.

12 pull-ups/ 1 wallballs

11 pull - ups/ 2 wallballs

10 pull-ups/3 wallballs

.

.

.

1 pull ups/12 wallballs

I did it in 13 mins that because I lost concentration and I think I did more wallballs that I'm supposed to. Not as tiring today, will probably do a bit capoeira or jillian michaels or p90x later after dinner.

That's an interesting split. I always thought the best combinations were push-pull, as in working a push and a pull muscle group the same day... to maintain balance. Hence, why I do this:

Biceps (pull) + Triceps (push)

Chest (push) + Back (pull)

I add shoulders to one of the days, depending on when I have more time and energy.

Legs is a completely separate day, as I THRASH them. I tend to do them Tuesday or Wednesday, so that I can ski by the weekend.

I went to the gym last night and ran 3.5 miles on the treadmill and did about 18 minutes on the elyptical. I do the treadmill first and I do the elyptical for a shorter amount of time. My goal is always to be able to want to work out just as hard the next day.

I also lifted yesterday, legs. I did all the leg machines, 2 sets of 12 reps.

I then went and sat in the hot tub. It was awesome! :D

I dropped a pound yesterday, I was 127 today! I have been fluctuating between 126-128 for the past few weeks. Drinking water seems to be helping, I definately feel less bloated and water logged. My stomach isn't as puffed out either as it is when I drink diet coke all the time.

So I'm on the right track I think. Mostly I want to lose weight in my thighs, that's my biggest problem spot. They have gone down a lot but I swear I probably carry about 5 pounds just in my thighs! Any ideas on how to get rid of them?
