sb129 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I have done a BodyPump class today. Having an hour free to exercise is the only hour I have had to myself all day! Gotta love gyms with creche facilities!
harmfulsweetz Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I did my twenty minute level 1 Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, and walked a lot. I'm quite pleased with myself, it's not a vast improvement, but it's better than nothing.
Author cuppa Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 I have done a BodyPump class today. Having an hour free to exercise is the only hour I have had to myself all day! Gotta love gyms with creche facilities! Awesome, one hour exercise is definitely more than enough . When I first started, I did 30 min at most. What is bodypump? I heard about it a lot. Is it like pilates/sculpting class? I did my twenty minute level 1 Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, and walked a lot. I'm quite pleased with myself, it's not a vast improvement, but it's better than nothing. Yay!!! go you! When I first did it, I was sore for 2 weeks. It even hurt to pee because I had to bend my knees. Now I'm getting used to it that it feels amazing. Be sure to listen to your body. I shocked my body last year with high intensity workout that I had to stop for a month because I started spotting . I just finished kickboxing. I was so sore, esp when we were told to do push-ups and half push-up planks (stop mid way through our push-ups with bended elbow and hold for 3 * 30 secs). I was shaking head to toe trying to hold them and had to close my eyes. that's one killer planks right there.
donnamaybe Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I'll be hittin' the elliptical tonight while I watch Castle.
USMCHokie Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 What is bodypump? I heard about it a lot. Is it like pilates/sculpting class? BodyPump is a pretty popular group exercise program where you do high intensity circuit training to popular music...it's all very high repetition weight lifting movements at a very fast pace...each body part is isolated, and you do 3-4 minutes of lifting...one song, one body part...with a total of 7 songs or so... I do it every now and then to provide a break in the normal routine, and it always kicks my butt. You can set your own difficulty by changing the amount of weight on your barbell.
sb129 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 here Its great, I try to do 1-2classes per week plus one other session with free weights
Enema Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I took my new Vibram Five Fingers out for their first run yesterday. 6kms. They were fantastic, I've got some tightness in the calves today... but hoping to stretch it out and go for another run. Barefoot ftw!
xxxheartbrokenxxx Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I do a fitness DVD - it has a weight lifting section, aerobics, kickboxing and toning. On a good week I will do 3 sections 5x but on a bad week I will do it about 3x. I also incorporate many other things during my daily routine to keep fit as well as do the actual workouts. I have a mini trampoline, love cycling, walk everwhere, go swimming when I can. Oh and I always run up and down flights of stairs - elevators are just sooooo lazy! My colleagues think Im crazy!
skydiveaddict Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 My job has me on the road all the time, and while it's physically demanding, it's not a substitute for the gym. I wish I could work out more
harmfulsweetz Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Day 3 of 30 day shred complete! Yeah, I've certainly noticed pain in sitting down anywhere and walking, it doesn't help that I need to kneel down for work and that, but still loving it! My jeans feel slightly looser, not a great deal, but an improvement in 3 days is astonishing!
flc Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 1hr on the bike (21mi) calories ~1000 it was pretty windy tonight
donnamaybe Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I'll be hittin' the elliptical tonight while I watch Castle. Well, Castle was a re-run. But I have a DVR, so I watched something else while I worked out. I'll be able to add weight training tonight as I'll have more time.

My abs went through transformation after 5 days doing it too, I even had a before & after pic. You will get used to level 1 after 10 days or so then you will go up to level 2 and hurt all over again but it's so worth it though.
GorillaTheater Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 My wife woke me up this morning at about 12:30 am, so that should count.
Meaplus3 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Yes. Yoga class.. and a 3 mile power walk. Mea:)

They were fantastic, I've got some tightness in the calves today... but hoping to stretch it out and go for another run. Barefoot ftw! I just bought a pair of sprints for using when I am hiking the beach and boardwalk. Glad to hear they are comfortable, I have been using reef sandals which are nice but can get uncomfortable after 5-6mi of hiking No exercise today for me, back on the bike tomorrow

I wish I could work out more hmm...how about doing 100 push ups or 100 sit ups challenge? Maybe for you, you will have to do one hand push ups to make it interesting or add 100 burpees as well
Lauriebell82 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 My Goal: exercise everyday, get leaner and fitter You should skip at least one day per week to rest your muscles. Otherwise you risk injury and burnout. But keep going!!! I worked out today: Ran 4 miles on the treadmill and lifted weights (I did legs) for a half hour. Oh, I had amazing sex also.

Author cuppa Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Yes i am regularly doing exercise ,because exercise is a key to young looking skin. Exercise increases circulation, tones up the muscles, reduces stress levels, and slows the aging process, fights toxins increases energy and so much more. The key to young looking skin with exercise is to find a workout program you enjoy and will do. Amen! what type of exercises you do? Skydiveaddict, my krav is OK. Yesterday was a bit boring, we went over the punch to the chin defense. I think I have to do more sparring but I've been skipping them because most people are taller than me and I'm such a beginner that I don't have a good reflex. I feel bad if a tall dude is sparring with me because I couldn't come closer and he feels bad going all out. *sigh* I wished I had a train/sparring buddy.
donnamaybe Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Did 45 minutes on the elliptical and worked up a good sweat, then did free weights for my uppers. It was good!
